It's afterschool, and I'm walking out with Pete
"...So, Trick..." he said "I can't have anyone over after school"
I sighed "I can't either with the danger of dad being around"
Pete sighed with me as we walked to Zoe's car
I thought, then said "Come home with me for a while. We just have to be careful" I whispered

Pete and I walked to my room. I sat on my bed and turned on the TV, and flipped through the channels
"Oh, look. Garden state's on" I said. Pete sat next to me on the bed and put his arm around me. I giggled
"PATRICK" Zoe yelled. I jumped and then I heard "Watch Lynn for me" Then I heard Zoe leave
"Well, she's out of our way" Pete said. He put his arm around me again and played with my hair. I feel my eyes shut and I fall asleep

I felt myself between another person. I rub my head against their chest
"Pete?" I said. I saw my glasses fell off, so I put them back on. Pete was asleep, next to me. We were all tangled, so I tapped him lightly
When he woke up, he smiled
"Guess we fell asleep" he said. I laughed, and I felt his soft lips touch mine. I opened my mouth, letting him explore, when I heard a gasp
We broke apart, and saw Lynn at the door
"Lynn!" I said. She ran down the hall into her room. Then she slammed her door shut
I knocked on the door, trying to get her to open, but she wouldn't. I knew she was going to tell someone, and I knew I was done. The thought of not being able to see Pete anymore, the thought of me being disowned by my parents came into my head, and tears ran down my face
"Trick" Pete whispered as he came down the hallway. I looked up, and he looked nervous. He was always scared of my father
He took me into his arms, and I sobbed into his chest. I knew this was the end, but I didn't want it to be like this
"Patrick" Zoe said when she saw us on top of the stairs. She sat on the floor next to us "What is it?"
I sobbed even more "I can't say Zoe"
"Pat, tell me"
"No"
"Pat" she said "Why is Lynn locked in her room?"
"I'm not saying..."
"Patrick..."
"Because" I started "Because she knows"
"Know's what" she said
"Zoe" I said. I took off my glasses "I'm in love. With Peter"
Zoe looked shocked for a minute, and then said "I won't tell dad"
"Ok" I said
