Brief update on the latest complete patch!

Blaine/Giovanni patch, a competition and news!!
Well done to Craftymaster90 for completing another patch – this time of Gym Leaders Blaine and Giovanni.
That makes 13 patches complete now. Our target of 81 seems like a long way off, but we’ll make it. Especially since we have so many awesome stitchers working their fingers off right now!! ^^
In other news…
All patches have now been claimed! Thanks to everyone who volunteered to stitch, or just joined up to support us. And thanks also to everyone who visits the blog!
It’s competition time again at the forums. This time, we want people to come up with the logo patch for the quilt – a little square to represent ourselves 😀
As before, the competition is open to everyone, stitching or not, and we invite everyone to participate! There will be a prize up for grabs (although that prize will be a mystery for now) as well as general kudos and props 😀

Holder of Anime, our speediest stitcher, has completed two more patches :O
I, personally, am loving the Onix one – that is my all time favourite Pokémon! More patches to come from Holder, I’m sure. And everybody else, too! 😛

Badge contest results and more complete patches
The badge contest ended today and we have a winner! Congratulations to Holder of Anime, whose winning design will be used as our official logo!

Well, since the last post there’s been a whole bunch of completed patches, as well as more progress on the current ones.

Another patch completed
I’m kicking off today’s post by welcoming our newest members: powergirl and Amaya. Amaya has joined up for her mother (who will be doing some stitching), so welcome to her as well! 😀
We have another finished patch! Well done to Anna Marie (amneufeld) on completing Diglett and Dugtrio.
A number of patches are now nearing completion – they will be posted on the PPG forums and here as soon as they are. Please check out the WIP gallery to see how the stitchers are progressing as it is updated regularly 😀
In other news…
The badge competition is underway and we have a few entries so far. Our prize has been finalized and I’m pleased to announce that the winner will receive a T-shirt with their badge design on it, as well as a forum badge. Voting on entries will begin on April 15th at the forums.
We have started taking ideas for things to put in a scrapbook – which will accompany the finished quilt. There will be photos and all sorts going in – including some very strange advice and some funny quotes from our members 😀

Since last week, our member list has grown – welcome to corbin, LilMissFirefly, EveningEmma, and Eliste!
Holder of Anime has the special honour of being the first to complete a patch, so well done to him. It’s the Charmander evolution set, as you can see here:
I’ve also added a number of progress pictures to the WIP gallery in the last few days and it looks like the first group of patches will be of a high standard! 😀
We now have a dedicated project forum, http://www.patchworkgym.com/forums/index.php. Big thanks to Faewren and her husband for doing the hard work getting it set up!
And to coincide with the opening of the forums, we are having a gym badge design contest! The badge will become our official logo and will be used on many things! All entrants are welcome – you don’t have to be stitching a patch to get involved 😀 Head over to the forums and check it out in the Competitions board – there will be a prize for the person who submits the winning design!
Welcome to the Patchwork Pokémon Gym!
Hi, I’m Blackmageheart, and I’ll be keeping you up to date on our project. What’s the project, you ask? Well…
Shortly after the Tōhoku earthquake in Japan, a group of people started a discussion on the Sprite Stitch forums on what they could do to help. After some idea-bouncing it was decided that a patchwork quilt, made of cross stitched Pokemon patches, would be made and auctioned off, with the proceeds going to a relevant charity. From there it took off!
We currently have 12 members, but we hope that more will join and help out!
