Farm Theme Quilt Blocks

Hello October! This month the Quilt Block Mania designers have created quilt blocks focusing on a Farm Theme.

You will surely find blocks you can incorporate into a quilt project. I’m thinking of making a child’s quilt to donate to a local service agency for Christmas distribution.

Designing the Windmill paper piecing block was fun. It was pretty easy to sew. I recommend using a 50 wt thread, like Aurifil, to sew the seams to keep them flatter when pressing. The Add-An-Eighth ruler is a good way to avoid cutting into the sewn seams when trimming.

3-Week Sew Along: The Pumpkin Patch

Join in beginning Thursday, October 6! Download patterns to sew pumpkins and leaves with your 2 1/2″ squares or strips. Make a table runner from the pattern. But if you want to make more blocks, design your own quilted item such as a wall hanging or quilt!
