6 months on
I really can't believe that its been just me and my girls for six months now, where did the time go?
Its 13 months since I last slept for five hours or more two nights in a row but I'm hopeful that my Bedroom decorating plans might help with that, I guess at some point I'll get over the problem one way or another whatever happens.
On Saturday Shorty and Tiny helped me strip paper from my bedroom walls and I continued the job on Sunday while they were out before giving up and thinking the last layer would never come off. My dad had other ideas though and he decided that he could sort it and on Monday morning he jumped in his car and drove 100 miles to my house and spent eight hours steaming and stripping my walls. He did a great job and he played with the kids before they went to bed before he got back in his car and drove home.
It was lovely of him and I was glad of his help but it was even more lovely because he was already planning to come today to put lining paper up and without even a question he got back in his car this morning and drove back up here.
My room is now magnolia or whatever colour it is that lining paper comes in and over the next week it will turn pink and black and all the furniture will be moved around before my dad comes back next Tuesday to do any bits I haven't managed myself. Then hopefully sleep will happen although I try not to believe in miracles too often.
I like decorating but there is something about the six month mark that makes me feel a strange mix of things that seem to have me on the edge of laughing, crying and shouting all at the same time which is making this job a bit more difficult than normal so the help of wonderful people really comes in handy :-)
