getting wet
We had another day of water related activities today and when I got up this morning to a frozen car and as much mist as yesterday I was almost sure it was going to be a mistake.
First stop was the beach to build sandcastles
and to look at the view.
Once we'd finished on the beach we drove a few miles to sit by the harbour and eat our picnic. It was slightly weird to see the snow on the mountains in the distance while sitting in the sun but Scotland is a funny thing where weather is concerned
We had a walk during which I saw this sign and couldn't resist taking a picture of it, If you haven't worked out I'm a bit nuts before now I hope this is the confirmation you need ;-)
The last water based event of the day was to go swimming, the kids love swimming, they're a real pair of water babies but it gave me a chance for a proper swim while granny and grandad played with the kids. we must have been in the pool for over an hour before I decided we'd have to drag the kids out and get sorted for heading home to cook tea.
We saw the sun setting as we walked back to the car and I thought I'd share it :-)
By the time tea was cooked and all was sorted the kids didn't make it to bed until after 930 but hopefully they will sleep until morning and we can look forward to a trip to an island and a walk on another beach :-)
