Panathlon is a national charity which gives young people with disabilities and special educational needs every year the opportunity to take part in competitive sport. In 2024/25, a record 74,383 young people participated in our events - mainly through competitions held externally with other schools, with additional participants with our in-school virtual programme.
OUR PROGRAMMES
We have over 25 years’ experience providing sporting competitions for a range of age groups including primary, Key Stage 3, secondary and 16+. We provide multisport, swimming, boccia, football, 10-pin bowling, cricket and a range of impairment-specific programmes which take place across 44 English counties, 12 unitary areas in Wales and new to Northern Ireland.
Our competitive pathway begins with local events, leading to county and regional finals, many held at prestigious Olympic and Paralympic venues.

VIRTUAL IN-SCHOOL PANATHLON
Our In-school Virtual Programme, launched in 2020 in response to the pandemic, empowers schools to run their own Panathlon competitions safely on-site. It has was widely embraced by schools who have continued to engage despite the ending of Covid-19 regulations.

In the making
1996-2021
Panathlon has been benefiting young disadvantaged people since 1996 – with a focus on disabled young people since 1999 – and has invested over £13 million in opportunities for young people to compete in sport during this time.
