Whiteladies Road (lower section)

Monday 1 to Friday 5 June - from 8pm to 6am

Description of work and disruption

As we enter the final phase of the work to prevent water pooling and to make the area more accessible for pedestrians and safer for cyclists, we need to resurface Whiteladies Road from just after the Tyndall’s Park Road and St Paul’s Road junction down to where it meets Queens Road.

This means the lower section of Whiteladies Road will be closed overnight in both directions from Monday 1 to Friday 5 June, between 8pm and 6am.

The closure means traffic will be diverted overnight and delays are to be expected, so avoid driving through the area if you can.

The lower part of Whiteladies Road will reopen in both directions in the daytime while the works are taking place.

Once the resurfacing works are finished (from 6am on Saturday 6 June), Whiteladies Road will reopen in both directions.

This work is weather dependent so the timings could change.

Thank you for your patience throughout this project.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists

Access will be maintained on the pavements.

Access for motor vehicles

While the lower part of Whiteladies Road is closed overnight, there will be a diversion in place.

  • If driving southbound, the diversion is via St Paul’s Road and Queens Road.
  • If driving northbound, the diversion is via Queens Road and St Paul’s Road.

Access to drive to and from properties along the closure will be maintained at all times but there may be times when it is restricted or temporarily delayed.

To find out more about access arrangements, email [email protected] or phone 0117 953 3654.

Access for buses

Buses will be diverted while the lower part of Whiteladies Road is closed overnight.

This includes the 1, 2, 2a, 3, 4, 71, T7, U1, U1N, and Y6 services.

Keep up to date with any changes to routes and bus stops on TravelWEST.
