At Origins, we are actively working to decolonize education by moving away from systems rooted in hierarchy, extraction, and assimilation. Instead, we embrace ways of teaching and learning that honor relationship, reciprocity, and the many ways of knowing held by cultures around the world.
Students will dive into each global biome and learn about the regions in depth.They will learn about the original peoples of each region, cultures and societies, the plants and animals, environmental concerns, economics, water cycles, weather patterns, food systems, soil types, and how the regions are connected to the greater global web.
Through this exploration, we instill in our students a connection to and understanding of our place in a global ecosystem.
