OPUSA Group: Organization of People United for the Unsheltered And (deserted, destitute)

Meet Our Founder

Margaret Ethel Brunton President of OPUSA Group

Evangelical: Love God, Love God’s Children. “This is what I believe and why I decided to take action to help the unsheltered homeless in Canada.”

Matthew 25:40, which says, “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”

The phrase “the least of these” refers to people who are marginalized or in need. The word “least” comes from the Greek word elachistōn, which means the smallest or most insignificant. The word “brothers” comes from the Greek word adelphōn, which indicates a familial relationship.

The verse emphasizes the Christian duty to serve and love others, especially those who are vulnerable. It also highlights the connection between Jesus and His followers, where serving others is equated with serving the Lord.

“I believe we all have a duty to help our brothers and sisters who find themselves out in the cold with no place to live, no job and for many, no hope. If you believe that too.

Who we are

Vision

A world where the destitute, shunned, and unloved are no longer abandoned but restored with dignity, purpose, and hope—thriving in faith, empowered with skills, and living in harmony with God’s love and provision. We seek to uplift individuals by providing them with the tools to reintegrate into society. The goal is to restore people to complete self-reliance.

Mission

To serve as a refuge and resource for the destitute, abandoned, widows, orphans, and underprivileged by providing food, clothing, shelter, and vocational training. Guided by God’s Will, we seek to uplift the shunned and unloved, equipping them with the tools to rebuild their lives and nurturing their spiritual transformation through the baptism of the Holy Ghost
