stable internet connection is recommended, but low latency is not a major factor. Project resources are streamed as needed and cached for reuse.
Not necessarily. Because storage and much of the processing are handled in the cloud, the demands on your local device are reduced. As mobile support is introduced, even phones and tablets are expected to be supported.
Projects are stored in the cloud so they can be shared easily and synced across devices. If your project uses especially large files that do not need cloud syncing, you can stream or load them at runtime from your device or an external server. We do not provide support for externally stored data.
Much like services similar to Google Docs, you can gain accessibility from anywhere, experience collaborative work, receive continuous updates, and have peace of mind with constant backups.
We believe in fair, transparent pricing without royalties. Our plans are designed so that you do not owe us anything based on your revenue, downloads, or installations.
Open Dev Kit supports sprite sheets and frame by frame animation, animated 3D models using bones, and Effekseer particle effects. These can also be edited or animated using the built in sprite sequencer.
Both products are created and maintained by the SoftWeir team. You can view a full comparison on our comparison page.
Open Dev Kit offers strong functionality at a competitive price. You can view a detailed comparison with other development platforms on our comparison page.
Currently, projects can be exported as Windows desktop applications. Support for Android is planned for a future update, with additional platforms to follow.
Security & Privacy
Just like on a regular computer data loss is possible. But with our cloud-based system and easy data export, you’re better protected. Constant backups ensure your projects are secure.
Absolutely. However due to practicality and security issues, we recommend that you create copies within your online profile so that they can be recovered easier.
Your account is protected by your username and password, and you can enable an additional layer of security with two factor authentication using a compatible TOTP authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator.
We also use SSL/TLS encryption to help protect data transmitted between your device and our servers.
Subscription & Account
Yes. Your project data is retained for a period of time in accordance with our EULA, so you can resume your subscription within that period without losing your work.
For additional peace of mind, Open Dev Kit also provides an Export Project feature, allowing you to download a local copy of your project at any time. Exported projects can be re imported later if needed, although a small re import fee applies.
Subscriptions and plans can be processed through multiple payment providers at checkout. We currently support Stripe with all major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay on supported mobile devices.
For larger orders over $2000, payment is handled directly by one of our agents through our contact form. No administration fees apply.
