So, let's recap this fabulous weekend, now, shall we? All the pictures will be under the cuts.
PS. Got my AP Scores Thursday. Gotta love two 4's for two years in a row. Especially when my Gov essay elaborated on the fact that the power of the House of Representatives is that it REPRESENTS. YES WTF.
My mom is lotto goddess, and this was her first win of 3 this weekend.
The Drowsy Chaperone was probably the best show I've ever seen, will ever see, or could probably ever be written. It's fresh and fun and really touching when you love Broadway as much as we all do. Everyone who said that Sutton is not the star of the show is right; I mean, we all love her and she's super talented, but it's Bob, Beth and Danny's show, and for me, a bit of Troy's. See it ASAP.
( I'll be a leading lady if I get my shot!Collapse )Our
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels seats were about row P-ish center. It was incredible. I was so excited to finally see it, and it was incredible, clearly. I think Sherie might have been sick, but it really didn't matter because I finally got to see Norbert and Sherie live. Lucie and Greg did kind of steal the show whenever they were on together, because they were just clearly that amazing. Wow, I just can't sum it up. Whoa, wow. Also, the Ruprecht scene got a little out of hand, and Jon and Norbs both sort of broke character. I laughed SO hard.
( I bring a message from a broad!Collapse )Woke up a bit early on Saturday to go rush
The Wedding Singer and got front row center tickets. Laura's been really sick, and thus out a lot, but was in because it was her birthday show! Kevin Kern was also a black man. It was awesome.
( Linda makes me feel awesome.Collapse )Before we saw Faith Healer, and after TWS, we went to eat at Junior's on 45th, which has such awesome cheesecake. After that, we wandered over to Q lotto to help Lori out, very last minute, and who should win last (of only 6 names), but my MOM. So, yay lotto goddess Mom.
Faith Healer is an intense show. That's really all I can say. It's very depressing, and it's not a very accessible, but the people in it are intensely talent and incredibly humble.
( Just the way you look tonightCollapse )Sunday was our sad last day there. Elle was depressed she couldn't see
Sweeney, so I called up while hanging around waiting for Laine because the
Tarzan rush line was too long so, my Mom and I figured "Sure, let's lotto Norbs last." We grabbed Sami (NEW FRIEND SAMI, HI ILU.), Laine, and Elle, and all entered lotto for kicks. And sure, hey look who should win, BUT MOM. AND SAMI. So we all went to eat. At which point, we all fell in love with each other all over again. And my mom. We love my mom?
So then me and Laine had to boogie out of there because
Sweeney has an early Sunday curtain, and we were all giddy to see that Dorothy was going on for Patti instead of Judy (so hey look, an audio of a Sweeney u/s). AND Ben Eakeley went on as The Beadle. He's really pretty. As Quinn stated "It's really weird to be attracted to a rapist's helper." Mano caught me during the playing with string scene and just kind of stayed on me for a good while. I was thrown for a loop. He really is incredible. Dorothy's acting was really really good too, albeit her vocals were a bit off for the first couple of songs. (During intermission, me and Laine met Michael Easton of OLTL and Port Charles fame. WIN.) Lauren met me inside the stagedoor after the show, STILL in costume with Cello and goes "APRIL!? HIII!" and it was awesome. Got my shirt. Went back out to wait with Laine and our flower for Mano.
( I'll revive it, I will!Collapse )Full album is here:
