How the protocols are constructed
These protocols are based on established best practices and methods for carbon removal endorsed by organizations such as the IPCC, European Commission, Gold Standard, Verra, and initiatives such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and PCAF. Building upon these best practices, the ONCRA Carbon Removal Protocols include rules on the removal process, system boundaries, credit point, quantification metric and MRV Protocol. Additionally, the ONCRA Guidelines highlight the requirements regarding credit sales, registration and co-benefits, among others.
