What are cookies?

How we use cookies

We use cookies for a number of different purposes. Some cookies are necessary for technical reasons; some enable a personalized experience for both visitors and registered users; and some allow for us to improve the functionality of our website and services. Some of these cookies may be set when a page is loaded, or when a visitor takes a particular action (signing into My BionicWP, for example).

They may be used to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites to predict your preferences and to display more relevant advertisements to you. These cookies also allow a profile to be built about you and your interests and enable personalized ads to be shown to you based on your profile.

Third Party / Embedded Content

BionicWP.com uses different third party applications and services to enhance the experience of website visitors. These include social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter (through the use of sharing buttons), or embedded content from YouTube and Vimeo. As a result, cookies may be set by these third parties, and used by them to track your online activity. We have no direct control over the information that is collected by these cookies.

User Sites

In addition to the cookies set on our own sites, we use Gauges, a third party service, which sets cookies on user sites. These third-party cookies allow us to count page views and determine the most suitable service plan for an account. Specifically, they tally the unique numbers of visitors to a site, as well as the number from specific geographic locations. A visitor is counted when we see a user or browser for the first time in a given period.

Below are examples of the cookies set by BionicWP, with explanations of their purpose. Some of these cookies are set across our whole network, whereas some are specific to BionicWP.com or My.BionicWP.com, our account control panel. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, but rather aims to be representative.

Your privacy is critically important to us so we strive to be transparent in how we are collecting, using, and sharing your information. We use cookies and other technologies to help us identify and track visitors to our sites, to store usage and access preferences for our services, to track and understand email campaign effectiveness, and to deliver targeted ads.

Like many websites, we share some of the data we collect through cookies with certain third party advertising and analytics vendors. The personal information we share includes online identifiers; internet or other network or device activity (such as cookie information, other device identifiers, and IP address); and geolocation data (approximate location information from your IP address). We do not share information that identifies you personally, like your name or contact information.

BoionicWP uses the Gaug.es cookies to track whether a count (i.e. visit/visitor) should be updated. It’s not used to track other information and is NOT associated with any unique identifier such as an IP address.The Gaug.es cookies will always have a value of “1,” no matter the visitor. The secure.gaug.es/track.js script will check if the cookies exist, and then determine if the visit is unique based on the presence, or lack of presence. If no cookies exist, it sets them.None of the cookies identify the individual directly and are just powering the aggregate counter, which is used for billing and plan-selection purposes on the BionicWP platform. As this is used for BionicWP billing purposes, it cannot be removed. Our use of Gaug.es is GDPR compliant, as:

We do not individually track site visitors for the purpose of selling or marketing to them.
We do not store any individually identifying information.
All information collected by Gaug.es can only be reported in aggregate and anonymously.
Gaug.es respects browser requests from visitors, including Do-Not-Track browser requests.
