THE BRIDE! | Official Trailer

Are you ready for.....THE BRIDE!? The Bride only in theaters and IMAX March 6.

From Maggie Gyllenhaal (Academy Award-nominated writer/director of The Lost Daughter) and starring Academy Award nominee Jessie Buckley and Academy Award winner Christian Bale comes THE BRIDE! A bold, iconoclastic take on one of the world’s most compelling stories.

A lonely Frankenstein (Bale) travels to 1930s Chicago to ask groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious (five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening) to create a companion for him. The two revive a murdered young woman and The Bride (Buckley) is born. What ensues is beyond what either of them imagined: Murder! Possession! A wild and radical cultural movement! And outlaw lovers in a wild and combustible romance!

The film stars Buckley, Bale, Peter Sarsgaard, with Bening, Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, and Oscar winner Penélope Cruz.

RDJ calls Timothee Chalamet 'one of the greats', tries to make 'Dunesday' happen

During a Q&A for 'Marty Supreme', Robert Downey Jr praised Timothee Chalamet and called him 'one of the greats'.

You’ve talked a lot lately about this,” Downey said about Chalamet’s pursuit of greatness. “I am literally twice your age. When I was 30, I was making a movie with Norman Jewison. It was called ‘Only You.’ Me and Marisa Tomei. We were on the Amalfi coast somewhere and I just go to Norman Jewison, you know ‘Moonstruck’ and all these great movies, I go, ‘Norman, I think I am one of the greats. I want you to tell me if you agree with that.’ He looked at me like I was nuts. He said, ‘Well, Mr. Downey, that remains to be seen.’ And I want to say in front of God and everyone in this audience here with you that as of ‘Marty Supreme,’ it no longer remains to be seen. Let’s hear it for, Timothée Chalamet.”

He also pointed out that they both of films premiering December 18: 'Avengers Doomsday' and 'Dune Pt 3'. He's trying to coin the term Dunesday, a la Barbenheimer.

George R.R. Martin on ‘Game of Thrones’ franchise

  • He describes his relationship with House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal as “miserable”, and says that Condal would ignore his notes. The Hollywood Reporter also says that during a zoom call with HBO that Martin said “This is not my story any longer.”

  • He is very happy with ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’. “It turned out very well, and I’m very happy with season one. The casting was a home run. [Showrunner Ira Parker] is terrific and seems to have the same priorities I do — he’s trying to do something that’s very true to the characters.”

  • He is still trying to complete the main series and doesn’t want it to go unfinished. He says there will be differences with the show’s ending. “I was going to kill more people. Not the ones they killed [in the show]. They made it more of a happy ending. I don’t see a happy ending for Tyrion. His whole arc has been tragic from the first. I was going to have Sansa die, but she’s been so appealing in the show, maybe I’ll let her live …”

ONTD Indie Release Guide Graphic.png

Avatar: Fire and Ash will finally have a challenger at the box office after a month on top, and it comes in the form of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. The latest film in the dystopian horror series follows the summer release of 28 Years Later, and is one of the first major film releases of 2026. But if you're not interested in following up on the happenings of Ralph Fiennes and the Irish guy from Sinners, there are plenty of other options in theaters.

The films listed are from studios other than the “Big Five” - Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., Walt Disney Pictures, and Columbia Pictures. Note that some of the movies listed are in their first week or two of limited release in the USA, so it may take them a few more weeks (or months) to show up in your local arthouse theater or on VOD. Check out the posts from the past few weeks for more movies that may have just opened near you: January 9th, January 2nd, and December 25th.
