Established in 2019 in Ghent, Belgium, as a spin-off from Ghent University, we tap into academic expertise in high-throughput analysis methods. Gerben Menschaert, Prof

CSO & Co-founder
Prof. Gerben Menschaert is the CSO and co-founder of OHMX.bio. He is an expert in high-throughput technologies (sequencing and mass spectrometry) and bioinformatics. After working for several years in both pharmaceutical and biotech companies (Janssen Pharmaceutica & deVGen) he built an academic career (Belgium, US, Australia). As CSO, he steers the OHMX.bio team.

Joannes van Cann, PhD

BD and Strategy manager
Joannes van Cann (PhD) has an accomplished background in both science and business. His scientific career has stretched Europe, and he has supported Global Clinical Trials, while also pursuing an MBA at a world-renowned business school. His mission is to grow OHMX.bio through business development and by focusing on the company’s strategy.

Hendrik Van de Voorde

COO
As the COO of OHMX.bio, Hendrik Van de Voorde brings over 15 years of experience and specialized expertise in sequencing and the implementation of novel cutting-edge technologies. He ensures operational excellence, overseeing service design and execution, delivering innovative solutions, and fostering OHMX.bio's commitment to excellence and innovation.

Karolien De Kimpe

R&D scientist & QMS manager
Karolien De Kimpe is experienced in Human genetics, next generation sequencing and has a growing experience in third-generation sequencing. At OHMX.bio she manages wet lab projects and is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Information Security Management System (ISO2700) and Quality Management System (ISO 9001).

Steven Verbruggen, PhD

Head of bioinformatics
Dr. Steven Verbruggen is a bioscience engineer specialized in bioinformatics for high-throughput technologies (sequencing and mass spectrometry). In his Ph.D, he focused on the development of bioinformatic tools for multi-omic research. As head of bioinformatics, he is responsible for all data science solutions within OHMX.bio.
Anna Matsaroki

Anna Matsaroki

Scientific project manager
Anna Matsaroki is the R&D scientist and Project leader at OHMX.bio. She is highly experienced in sequencing services with a main focus on epigenomics and transcriptomics. As a project manager, she is responsible for the project design and the wet lab procedures.

Iuliana Vintea

Doctoral researcher
Iuliana is a bioscience engineer specialized in cell and gene technology. Her focus now is on cancer research where she aims to develop a clinical diagnostic test to predict ferroptosis sensitivity based on Oxford Nanopore Sequencing.

Arne Godderis

Junior bioinformatician
Arne Godderis is a junior bioinformatician at OHMX.bio. He has a keen interest in long-read sequencing. At OHMX.bio he is responsible for dry lab projects and implementing new bioinformatics tools.

Stéphanie Van de Vyver is an R&D scientist at OHMX.bio. With her education as a pharmaceutical and biology laboratory technician and hands-on experience from several internships, she has developed expertise in genetics and R&D. At OHMX.bio, she is responsible for wet lab procedures.
