OUR COMMITMENT

We are inspired by both the opportunity—and the responsibility—to create therapies with the potential to improve health, restore hope, and transform lives. Guided by compassion and purpose, we pursue treatments that open new doors to healthier futures.

Currently we have programs in development for inherited retinal diseases and blindness diseases affecting millions across the globe, including retinitis pigmentosa (RP), Stargardt disease, geographic atrophy—late-stage dry age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic macular edema.

Patients featured in documentary-style videos

Voices of hope. Patients who participated in Ocugen’s OCU400 and OCU410ST clinical trials share how their blindness disease has shaped their everyday lives. After treatment with our modifier gene therapies, patients experienced notable improvements, offering them hope and confidence for the future.

Patient Stories

OCU400 (Retinitis Pigmentosa)

RP is a group of inherited eye diseases causing vision loss and affecting many people across the globe. RP is caused by many different genetic mutations, making it challenging to develop treatments that work for everyone. OCU400 is a gene therapy candidate designed to help people with RP, regardless of which genetic mutation they have. OCU400 works to restore balance in the retina’s cells with the goal of improving overall function. This innovative therapy offers hope where none has existed previously.

OCU410ST (Stargardt Disease)

Stargardt disease is a rare, inherited eye disease that causes gradual vision loss, often starting in childhood or adolescence. It happens when the cells in the central part of the retina begin to break down. The speed and severity of vision loss can vary from person to person. OCU410ST is an experimental gene therapy that delivers a helpful gene called RORA, directly to the retina. This is designed to target several underlying causes of Stargardt disease.

OCU400 is an investigational drug product Ocugen is evaluating for the treatment of certain patients with retinitis pigmentosa. OCU400 is not currently approved for any use.

OCU400 is currently in a Phase 3 clinical trial. This video depicts one participant’s experience in the Phase 1/2 OCU400 trial and may not reflect all or even most participants’ experiences on OCU400 or in the clinical trial. The participant provided permission for Ocugen to use his image and voice in this video. Nothing in this video is intended to suggest that OCU400 has been determined to be safe and effective for intended use.

OCU410ST is an investigational drug product Ocugen is researching for the treatment of certain patients with Stargardt Disease. OCU410ST is not currently approved for any use.

OCU410ST is currently in a Phase 2/3 clinical trial. This video depicts one participant’s experience in the Phase 1 OCU410ST trial and may not reflect all or even most participants’ experiences on OCU410ST or in the clinical trial. Expanded Access Policy

We understand that patients and families may seek options outside of clinical trials. Our Expanded Access Policy (EAP) outlines the framework for when investigational medicines may be available prior to regulatory approval. Hear from a patient who was enthusiastic to participate in the EAP for OCU400.
