WHY MISSIONS?
At the time of our baptism as Orthodox Christians the Holy Gospel of Matthew is read…
And Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit… and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.’
– Matthew 28:19–20
WHY MISSIONS?
At the time of our baptism as Orthodox Christians the Holy Gospel of Matthew is read…

This passage, known as The Great Commission, is given to each of us just as it was to the original disciples. Thus, it is an imperative of our Orthodox faith that we embrace a mission mindset.
Why?
- Mission work should not be secondary activity, but deeply integrated into our lives
- It strengthens our community and unites us in common purpose and action
- Cultivating a mission mindset today ensures a thriving Church tomorrow
- Most importantly, it ensures that we work to bring people into the fullness of life in Christ
