New Zealand Sign Language Dictionary contains 4500+ multimedia, multilingual dictionary entries.
A "Word of the Day" feature introduces you to a new vocabulary word every day.
All the diagrams are built in to the application so they can be viewed offline. To view the videos, an active Internet connection is required.
Please note that this app is not actively maintained. We still welcome your feedback while we are investigating redevelopment opportunities. In the meantime, we continue to regularly release dictionary updates on our website at https://nzsl.nz.

Re-instate favourites functionality: Tap the 'Star' button in the app to find out more about how favourites work and start adding your favourite signs! You may notice that we request a new permission for this update - "Write External Storage". We ask for this permission so that we can store sign videos. Only the signs you have picked as favourites will be stored, and you can clear these signs at any time to remove the corresponding files.

We're really sorry if you experienced problems watching videos recently - this was due to videos being moved to a new provider recently and the new video location not being updated in the sign database packaged with the application. we're updating our processes and documentation to avoid something like this happening again in the future.
