Bridging Education and Industry for a Stronger Workforce and Economy in New York State
NYSTEC founded our IgniteU program to help small businesses and startups across New York State learn, grow, and turn ideas into real-world impact. Since 2015, it has supported hundreds of entrepreneurs while expanding into partnerships with nonprofits, academia, industry, and government to strengthen both workforce and economic development.
Through hands-on STEAM programming, government contracting guidance, strategic partnerships, and its IgniteU NY Podcast, the program builds connections and opportunities that empower innovators and fuel statewide growth.
Empire APEX Accelerator
Helping Businesses Successfully Compete for Government Contracts
Empire APEX Accelerator is a government contracting assistance program managed by the Department of Defense and hosted by NYSTEC to help businesses compete for federal, state, and local contracts. The program provides free, confidential counseling and education to eligible businesses across 41 counties in New York, strengthening supply chains and fostering innovation.
Since 2020, Empire APEX Accelerator has supported more than 1,100 clients and helped secure more than 6,300 contracts worth $345 million, making it a key driver of economic growth in the state.
