About the Event
The Newport Open Golf Tournament brings together business leaders, golf enthusiasts, and supporters of national service for an exceptional day of golf at the legendary Newport Country Club.
Proceeds from the tournament directly support the Naval War College Foundation, advancing the education and development of future leaders at the U.S. Naval War College.
Tournament Format
Bramble-Style Tournament (Best Ball + Scramble Hybrid)
The Newport Open will be played in a bramble format, designed to be competitive, fast-paced, and enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.
How it works:
-
All players tee off on each hole
-
The best drive is selected
-
Each player plays their own ball from that spot to the hole
-
The lowest individual score on each hole counts as the team score
This format rewards strong team play while allowing every golfer to contribute, making it ideal for mixed-skill foursomes and corporate teams.
