Kimberly Carroll Steward, Ph.D

Kim joined the Nebraska Recycling Council in July 2024. She comes to us with a background in natural resources, with a focus on environmental education. Kim holds a doctoral degree in natural resources from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a master’s degree in forestry, and a bachelor’s degree in wildlife, fisheries, and aquaculture, both from Mississippi State University. Her interests lie at the nexus of environment, education, and environmental social justice, where she is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices, raising awareness about environmental issues, and advocating for equitable access to environmental resources and education for all communities. Kim is responsible for overseeing its strategic direction, operations, and overall management at NRC. Kim is an avid outdoor enthusiast. In her free time, she enjoys a variety of activities, including gardening, archery, and hiking, among others.

Carina Olivetti

Carina joined the Nebraska Recycling Council at the end of April 2023. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an Environmental Studies degree in 2021. Gardening, recycling, and composting practices from early childhood have been fundamental to her environmental stewardship. Her past work experiences include health food stores, horticulture positions, habitat monitoring, and solid waste management. Food waste diversion, composting, circular design, land use, habitat loss, and biodiversity conservation are her main topics of interest. She is excited for the opportunity to grow with the Nebraska Recycling Council and help foster environmental stewardship throughout the state. She enjoys nature hikes, gardening, biking, tennis, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Grace Barton

Grace joined the Nebraska Recycling Council as Program Director in August 2025. She graduated in May 2025 from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies, a minor in Business Administration, and additional credits in Environmental Studies. Her passion for nonprofit work, paired with a deep commitment to sustainability and education, led her to the Nebraska Recycling Council. Outside of work, Grace enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and being outdoors. She looks forward to collaborating with our members and organizations across Nebraska to maximize NRC’s impact and is eager to continue learning and growing in her role.

Jadyn Chasek

Jadyn joined the Nebraska Recycling Council as Program Director in October 2025. Her connection to the organization began in 2023, when she served as an intern. That experience strengthened her passion for environmental work and showed her the impact that community-driven efforts can make. She graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in May 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental & Sustainability Studies and Communication Studies. Now, she is excited to apply her education and experience to support the Council’s mission. Outside of work, Jadyn enjoys spending time outdoors, walking her dogs, and being with friends and family.
