All Notestone Reserve properties are located at:

14580 Notestone Road
Laurelville, Ohio 43135

We are approximately 62 miles (about 1 hour) southeast of Columbus, Ohio.

Notestone Reserve is centrally located in Hocking Hills with convenient access to major hiking trails and waterfalls. Approximate drive times from 14580 Notestone Road, Laurelville, Ohio:

  • Rock House – 3.1 miles | 7 minutes
  • Old Man’s Cave – 11 miles | 20 minutes
  • Cedar Falls – ~13 miles | 25 minutes
  • Ash Cave – 16 miles | 28-30 minutes
  • Conkle’s Hollow – ~8 miles | 15 minutes
  • Cantwell Cliffs – ~6 miles | 15 minutes

Drive times may vary depending on traffic, construction, and seasonal road conditions.

All cabins are located on the same private property, making it easy to access hiking trails, waterfalls, and local dining within a 15-30 minute drive.

Roads leading to Notestone Reserve include rural and gravel sections typical of Hocking Hills.

  • Under normal conditions, our driveways are accessible in just about any vehicle. Muir, Thoreau, Austen, Sherwood and Hemingway all have steeper driveway approaches — for those we strongly recommend 4WD or AWD during winter months.
  • We recommend checking weather conditions prior to travel in winter months.

Yes. Every property at Notestone Reserve includes a personal hot tub available year-round.. Hot tubs are professionally cleaned between each stay and set to standard temperature prior to arrival.

Every property has a private hot tub, and we want to make sure it’s in great shape for you — and for the next guests after you. A few things we ask:

  • Use the striped towels provided for the hot tub — bath towels and hot tub towels are kept separate for a reason
  • Keep the cover on between soaks to maintain temperature and keep debris out
  • Please don’t adjust the temperature below 100 degrees — it takes several hours to recover and affects the next guests
  • No glass in or around the hot tub

Hot tubs are professionally cleaned and set to temperature before every arrival.

All Notestone properties are on a septic system. To keep things running smoothly:

  • Flush toilet paper only — no wipes, paper towels, or feminine products
  • No garbage disposal at the sink

This applies to every property on the grounds. We appreciate your help keeping the systems in good shape.

The  following cabins welcome pets:

  • Stowe
  • Hemingway
  • Sherwood
  • Austen

Pet fees apply. Pets must be disclosed at booking. We provide a welcome basket for your furry friend with treats and waste bags.

Dogs must remain leashed when outside, are not allowed on furniture, and must be crated (one crate is provided) if left unattended in the home.

Yes. We provide complimentary firewood and fire starters for each cabin’s fire pit.

Our community game room is a shared amenity available to all Notestone Reserve guests. It includes:

  • Pool table
  • Basketball arcade machine
  • Arcade games
  • Board games
  • 85” TV
  • Kids games
  • Indoor cornhole

The game room is centrally located on the property just a short walk from all homes. It may be used by multiple groups at the same time.

See highlights HERE.

Yes, all properties have both:

  • Heating: Central heat or electric heating (all seasons)
  • Air Conditioning: Central AC or mini-split systems
  • Temperature Control: Individual thermostats in each unit

Our properties are comfortable year-round, from snowy winters to humid summers.

We offer Starlink satellite internet. In general it holds up well — most guests have no trouble streaming movies or music without issue. That said, satellite internet is a different animal than what you’re used to at home. Video calls and long phone calls can cut out from time to time, especially on cloudy days when the router is working harder to find its signal. We’d rather tell you upfront than have you find out mid-Zoom. If you’re planning to work remotely during your stay, it can work — just plan for the occasional hiccup.

Most major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) have limited service at our property. Signal strength may vary slightly due to our wooded, rural setting. All cabins include WiFi for added connectivity.

  • Turn off all lights
  • Make sure all windows and doors are closed and locked
  • Lock the front door on your way out

We do our best to accommodate early check-in and late check-outs, but cannot guarantee availability. A surcharge may apply. Please reach out to request as needed.

No, this property maintains a strict no smoking or vaping policy, both indoors and outdoors. Violations will result in the forfeiture of your security deposit and may incur additional cleaning fees.

While the property offers full, uninterrupted access, you may encounter other guests on the property grounds. All guests have shared access to the community game room, which includes a large TV, pool table, basketball arcade, arcade games, and more.

For guest safety, we have exterior security cameras focused on driveways and parking areas only. There are NO cameras inside cabins or pointing at hot tubs/private outdoor spaces. Cameras are clearly disclosed before booking. The game room does have an interior camera for property safety. No cameras are actively monitored but may be reviewed if needed. Tampering with or covering either device is strictly prohibited and may result in eviction from the property.

No, we do not require a security deposit.

Our standard cancellation policy applies. However, if there is a Level 3 Snow Emergency in Hocking County that will prevent access to the property, we will provide a full refund.

Every property is fully stocked with what you need for a comfortable stay: linens, towels, kitchen essentials, starter toiletries, coffee, and tea. If you have any specific requests, reach out and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

There are no washers or dryers in any of the units. For longer stays, we do have laundry facilities on the property that we can occasionally make available — just reach out and ask. We accommodate it when we can, as long as it doesn’t conflict with our cleaning schedule between guests.

There’s so much to do in Hocking Hills! Check out local activities here: LOCAL FAVORITES – Notestone Reserve

Notestone Reserve is designed for peaceful getaways, not events. We have strict policies:

  • No parties or events of any kind, including bachelor and bachelorette groups
  • No glitter — it genuinely never goes away and we mean that
  • Guest count must match your booking — no extra visitors beyond registered guests
  • No fireworks, ATVs, hunting, or weapons on the property
  • No commercial photography or video without written approval
  • Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Violations may result in immediate eviction without refund

A few things that apply to specific units:

Tiny homes (Frost, Hughes, Whitman, Yeats) — loft beam The loft bed has a beam that sits approximately 29 inches above the mattress. Lying down is perfectly comfortable — just sit up carefully. We put this in every listing and people still occasionally catch it with their forehead, so: the beam is real.

Glass homes (Muir and Thoreau) — curtains after dark During the day the mirrored exterior is completely private. After dark that reverses, so please use the curtains provided near the bed. The bathroom is frosted, so no concerns there.

Sherwood — murphy bed The queen murphy bed in the lower level living area must be operated by an adult.

Yes, for the enjoyment of all guests, quiet hours are from 10PM to 8AM.

Yes, all reservations require a Renter Agreement to be signed upon booking. A sample can be found HERE*.

*This is a sample of our renter agreement. After booking, we will send this to you with a link you can use to sign it electronically online. Your booking/guest information will already be filled in. You must sign this agreement in order to access the property.

Booking directly through NotestoneReserve.com keeps the platform fees out of the equation — both for you and for us. When you book direct you’re communicating straight with the property owners, modifications are easier to handle, and you get access to offers and last-minute availability we share with our direct guests first.

Our email list members also receive 10% off their first direct stay.

Our larger cabins (sleep 6) are ideal for families:

  • Stowe
  • Hemingway
  • Austen
  • Sherwood

Each includes two bathrooms, a full kitchen, private hot tub, and access to the shared community game room.

Our tiny homes and mirror cabins are ideal for romantic getaways:

  • Muir
  • Thoreau
  • Whitman
  • Hughes
  • Yeats
  • Frost

All couple-focused cabins include private hot tubs, fire pits, and intimate outdoor spaces.

Muir and Thoreau are our two glass homes — built with reflective exterior panels that mirror the surrounding forest, so the structures almost disappear into the trees during the day.

Inside, the queen bed sits directly in front of floor-to-ceiling glass with nothing but forest in view. During the day the mirrored exterior is completely private — you can see out, no one can see in. At night that reverses, so we provide curtains near the bed and ask guests to use them. The bathroom is frosted glass.

Neither Muir nor Thoreau has a TV — intentionally. The forest views are the entertainment. Both have a private hot tub, fire pit, Bluetooth speaker, and a smaller kitchen setup (apartment-size fridge, portable stovetop, air fryer, French press, coffee maker).

These are our most popular units for couples looking to fully disconnect. If you need a TV, our tiny homes and cabins are the better fit.

Yes! Each cabin has a propane grill with the propane and grilling tools provided! Please turn off the propane tank after each use.

  • Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths

The tiny homes are clustered at the front of the property — each has its own private outdoor space with privacy panels around the hot tub and natural shrub and tree coverage between units, but neighbors are nearby. Think of it as a small community where you can keep entirely to yourself on your own deck.

The glass homes and cabins sit elsewhere on the 14 acres with more separation between units.
