wuthering waves 2.6 part 1 story was.....meh (20 images) (review) (read)

positives:
This story chapter was decent overall and worked well enough for my playthrough. Augusta was definitely a standout—her character design and outfit felt deliberate, and her look perfectly fits the role she’s meant to portray. The world-building, while not jaw-dropping, was solid and consistent, and it did its job in keeping me immersed. The real star here was the music—it was beautifully done and added so much depth to the atmosphere, often carrying scenes that otherwise might have felt flat.
negetives: That said, because this is the first part of a two-part finale, my expectations were naturally higher. I was hoping for a true “fight against the dark tide” kind of story to set the stage for the grand conclusion. Instead, this installment felt a bit restrained, almost like it was holding back, this story again felt like a companion quest as most of the content ( past stories) revolved around her which I honestly don't prefer. there were many interesting world building but it came to no avail. septimont is a place for many so i couldn't get why did they stay around Augusta or iuno so much. The villain, in particular, wasn’t intimidating enough to leave a strong impression, which hurt the sense of urgency and danger I was expecting. And once again, Fracsidas barely made an impact—something I was really hoping would change in this chapter.
In the end, this part of the story feels like it’s building toward something bigger, but on its own, it doesn’t quite deliver the weight of a final arc. It’s enjoyable, with strong moments of character design and music, but it stops short of being truly epic. I’d give this first part of the finale a 7.4/10—a solid setup, but it needs the second half to really seal the deal.

final thoughts: its very underwhelming for an ending. septimont is in grave danger but all it took was two people, rover and Augusta stop it like its another Wednesday? i am not satisfied. i couldn't feel the “hunt” vibe in this story.

Obey Me! Chapter 21 Update ♡♡
Many people have been asking if there was going to be a chapter 21 continuation. In a recent twitter reply, the obey me team had said that they are working on the next chapter. It might take a while before it is released though.
I can't remeber the exact phrasing they said it, and I can't find the tweet (it was a reply) on their page. However, I'm 100% sure that I saw that tweet :)
