i haven't updated for a long time.
right now we're in chicago at megan's.
earlier today we met uo with jesse at portillo's.
they had some of the best fries i've ever had!
after that we took the L back to megans and watched orgazmo.
we started off watching the unrated version, but it wasn't as funny.
so we just watched the original and laughed our asses off.
now it's 2am and we just ordered pizza (they deliver until fucking 5am!),
and we're rocking super mario world on super nintendo.
jt and crazy ciatti are determined to beat the entire game tonight...
and they're not doing too bad thus far.

the last coule of days have been pretty stellar.
the first show with MCS was in iowa city.
there were a good ammount of people there too (i would guess about 400 - 500).
it was really fucking cool too because the crowd responded really well to us.
we sold a good ammount of merch too (always a bonus).
and if all of that wasn't rad enough, there were a lot of people that drove out for the show!
molly, mle & levi came down from MN.
meghan and her two friends (who's names i'm totally blanking on and now i feel like an asshole for it) from IL.
and i also got to see my buddy emlee!
a-w-e-s-o-m-e!

the next show was out in south bend, indiana (notre dame to be exact).
that show was a lot of fun, but we didn't sell shit.
we only sold a few cds... oh well.
after the show we hung out with my buddy barthel and played some texas hold-em.
well, i didn't play.
i sat and watched the flipsyde final show on dvd...

then it was off to urbana, il.
that show was so much fucking fun.
i think we played really fucking well.
we were joking around with MCS a ton before they went on.
we also ended up taking some new promo shots thanks to our new buddy tom.
i guess it's hard to describe, but the overall vibe of that show was just awesome.
everyone was having a good time.

now we have a couple days off to chill in chicago with some of our good friends.
tomorrow we're going to barbeque, watch some movies, maybe go to some art museums, and otherwise just hang out.
sadly though, our buddy crazy ciatti has to head home tomorrow.
but it was fucking awesome having him here the last couple of days...
hopefully he can come out with us again sometime soon.

it's really fucking cool having good friends in different cities.
it makes being on the road that much more fun.
cuz it's almost like a piece of home on the road.
if every tour we went on was like this one and the tsunami bomb tour, i could stay on the road forever and a day.
i absolutely love it.

but i'm done rambling for now.
time to go watch these crazy ass mother fuckers beat super mario world.

we start out mini-tour today.
we're playing about 30 minutes north of des moines.
then tomorrow we're in Omaha.
we not only get to rock out @ the Ranch Bowl and get free bowling...
but we also get to rock with Tsunami Bomb...
AND we get to see SOJH!
i'm excited.
i was also checking the weather in the cities we're going...
Oklahoma City was about 70 yesterday...
fucking awesome.

wow, i haven't used this thing for a while.
guess i've just been to fucking busy...
it happens.

well, i dont have a lot of time to write this so this one will be a quick recap.

went to california with Caitlin for a weekend.
she had to do ADR work on her movie.
it was rad as hell watching the process.
i got to meet John Voight.
and i got to have a line in the movie...
fucking rad.
also got to meet some of Caitlin's Cali friends.
they were super rad.

i've been working a TON lately.
did 10 days straight, that was fun.
i've also started managing once a week.
i'm actually managing tonight.
fun.
i hate it.

umm.... what else...
going on tour in about a week with Tsunami Bomb.
getting new merch this week too.
cd is almost finished, but no release date yet.
and yeah... i can't think of anything else right now.

so off to work i go.
it's time to be just another number in the system...

we're going on a 5 show tour with Tsunami Bomb in late February!
we'll even be making yet another stop in california!

the show last night was pretty incredible.
it was our first home show since august 7th.
so i was pretty nervous about how the turn out would be...
we were in the bar getting some food, when all of a sudden i saw a familiar face walk in.
it was anthony ciati (he's our good friend from detroit!).
i couldn't believe that he was there.
well, when i went into the main room i had a couple more suprises.
scott, tarah, megan & jesse where all there!
i can't believe they drove out for the show!
fucking amazing.
and on top of all of that, when i got into the other room, it was packed!
the show actually SOLD OUT!
how fucking amazing is that!?!

the semester opened.
i love those guys.
not only are they great guys, but they're good.
and they're young.
i expect nothing but huge things from them.

next was honest people (aka mike, our old guitar player).
i could tell he was nervous, and i dont fucking blame him.
i wouldn't be able to get infront of 400 people and play solo.
noooo fucking way.
he did a great job.
before he started playing he apologized to claudio, forrest and i for how things went down when he quit the band.
it was very unexpected.
so i went out on stage and gave him a hug.

next were small towns burn a little slower.
i missed the first few songs cuz i was in back streching out.
but i caught the last4 songs or so and they were great.
they're really tightend up as a band.
great guys too.
and their song "last blast off" is fucking catchy as hell.

then we were up.
i was nervous as shit.
i was also pretty tired.
claudio started our intro a little too early, and forrest wasn't ready.
oh well, it all worked out.
i thought the first couple songs were a bit sloppy.
and we had some tuning problems with the guitars.
but otherwise i thought it went pretty well.
the crowd really got into it, and it was fucking sweet.
i hope all our shows from here on out are as energetic.

afterwards we said hello to a bunch of people we haven't seen for a long while.
then we headed over to perkins.
a bunch of people went, and it was sweet.
but i felt bad cuz i was down at the end of the table with scott talking business all night.
kinda boring stuff for everyone else, but it was good to clear some things away.

speaking of clearing some things away...
last night at the show we made our label announcement.
we're signing to Punknews Records.
it's a new label run byt the duders that run the site Punknews.org.
but we're also getting some help from Epitaph!!!
so basically here's how it works:

Punknews pays for us to record, pays for mastering and all that jazz.
Epitaph presses the record, and distributes it.

not a bad deal at all...
i'm super excited about that, and i'm excited to get this record out!

but for now, i'm going to go shower, then go spend my giftcard at best buy!

it's still kind of weird to be back.
but it's also nice.

still in california.
sorry for the lack of updates.
there really hasn't been very much exciting stuff going.
well, other than getting closer to being finished on the record.
it sounds fucking awesome so far.
forrest's vocals are pretty much done.
we might have to fix a few things here and there,
but otherwise he is done.
jt started the back ups today.
they sound really good.
he's been adding a lot of harmonies.
and i mean a lot.
to the point where on some parts it might be overkill.
but like chris says "it's better to record them, cuz we can always yake them out"

i think we might be heading back home on thursday.
depending on if the vocals are done or not.
then chris is going to spend the majority of december mixing.
i'm so excited.

we are for sure calling the album "pandora"
we've been brainstorming artwork ideas.
we've got some pretty rad stuff in mind.
i hope it can all be pulled off.

aside from band crap, things are alright.
i talk to kari for the first time in a couple months last night.
it was good talking to her again.
i've really missed her.

tomorrow i think chris and i might go get some tattoo's
that is, if we can find a reputable place out here that isn't overpriced.
i'm gonna get a bass clef on my left forearm.
should be pretty radical.

i'm excited to get home and see my friends.
i'm also VERY excited to sleep in my bed.
now dont get me wrong, i dont mind sleeping on concrete
but my bed is just a tad bit more confortable.
i'm also excited to see all my friends that i haven't seen for a long time.

the 2 months before we went into the studio i stayed in a lot.
i really only went to work and band practice.
i need to change that.
i need to hang out with more people
and meet some new people...
preferably of the female persuasion.
