Hello everyone! It's kind of cool to be back on a journalling platform, sort of back to the future. I hope you are all well and enjoying your fandom explorations. Femme and I have pillow forts, dream widths, I think our old LJs are still active, and we're both on twitter, although rarely use it. Our Ao3 accounts are unchanged.

Now I'm going back to the 25 Days of Draco and Harry chapter that's (a few hours) overdue! We're working to catch up, but femme just made todays exchange into something truly marvelous!

ED: The fic is called All I Want For Christmas (Is For You To Stop Talking). It's Drarry preschool dads fic, currently north of 80K in episodic chapters that can be read day by day, and it will be mature eventually in terms of content rating.

It's been a hard Christmas this year. We spent the holiday with femmequixotic's family. Her mom is well right now, though very ill with a couple of potentially fatal conditions simultaneously. We were tired and loved seeing everyone, but the trip to SC was not easy. I will say, everyone was very hospitable to us about the lesbian married thing. Woot? Yes, woot!

The love of friends and fellow fans means so much in times like these.

Continuing my own mental thread of epic, and I mean E=P=I=C, recs, this fic by tevere is one of the most extraordinary polit!fics I have read in any fandom. It springboards off of a quick reference in RL of a GK character making a trip for peacekeeping, and sets up an unbelievable AU in East Timor during the time of the independence referendum. It's an absolutely gripping read, and is one of the many reasons I love GK fandom so damn much. Srsly this fic pwns my heart.

This fic has MAPS. It has SOURCE LISTINGS. It has profound, intense narrative. It is hot like burning at points, and so, so, so compelling. You do not need to know the characters to love this AU, but if you do, it is even better (also, who does not want to look at Alexander Skarsgard and Stark Sands' lovely faces?). Do not pick up without time to read! It will possess your life.

Also, an amazing team of podficcers, including chemm80, luzula, and fandomfan have recorded it.

hd_fan_fair is posting and the fic and art is gorrrrrgeous. I've just read one fic that I adored and must share!

The Tapestry of Kinship

This is the sweetest story. It starts in the middle of things with a slightly socially reclusive Harry and a truly novel Draco with an adorable daughter named Mira Altair. Mira becomes engaged in the hope of restoring the Black tapestry, and Harry and Draco work together to restore the human bonds behind the scorched and divided Black family tree.

It's absolutely adorable and sweetly melancholic with an optimistic finish. The best parts of it are... all of it! I really enjoy this author's narrative style and loved watching the story become established. The use of magic is wonderful, and Harry is oddly affecting. Wonderful read! \0/
