DATA INFRASTRUCTURE SUBNETWORK

ABOUT

The NNERPP Data Infrastructure Subnetwork is a specialized learning community within NNERPP focused on processes related to data procurement, access, security, sharing, and processing for use. Subnetwork members share best practices, successes, and challenges and are working to build a repository of resources and tools to support data infrastructure for RPPs.

Our (Current) Ways of Working Together:

Who we are: NNERPP members and non-members who work with data procurement, access, security, sharing, and processing, mostly in partnered research collaborations including, but not limited to, research-practice partnerships. This may include folks who work exclusively in data roles, but we also welcome folks in research or practice roles whose role involves other aspects or elements of the research process.

Why did we form: With the shifts in data availability and funding in 2025, NNERPP members were reflecting on how RPPs can strengthen the foundations that support their data work. In that spirit, several NNERPP members began conversations in the spring of 2025 to launch a new subnetwork focused on data infrastructure.

What do we do: We imagine the Data Infrastructure Subnetwork as a space for learning and thinking together about the systems, practices, and partnerships that help RPPs build and sustain strong data foundations.

When do we meet: We currently plan to meet quarterly, but meeting cadence will be revisited each semester and will be adjusted to meet the needs of a majority of the group. All meetings will be held via Zoom – we may occasionally meet up in spots that folks might already be headed to, such as the NNERPP Annual Forum, or conferences like AERA.

How does the subnetwork work: The subnetwork is lead by a small team of its members and supported logistically by the NNERPP team.
