Jared Leto

Jared Leto was born on December 26, 1971 and became well known with his first role as Jordan Catalano on My So-Called Life (1994). While he would go on to act in many movies, he’ll probably always be best known for that first role. Leto appeared in the Winona Ryder film, How to Make an American Quilt (1995) and re-teamed with Ryder for Girl, Interrupted (1999). He was Steve Prefontaine in the biopic, Prefontaine. He had a role in Urban Legend (1998), Fight Club (1999), and American Psycho (2000). Leto co-starred in Requiem for a Dream (2000) to much critical acclaim, and threatened Jodie Foster in Panic Room (2002). He played Hephaistion in Oliver Stone’s Alexander, and appeared in Lord of War with Nicolas Cage. Along with acting, Leto has a rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars. His brother, Shannon Leto, is also in the band, which began in 1998. To date they have released two albums, 30 Seconds to Mars (2002) and A Beautiful Lie (2005). In 2007, they toured Europe, opening for Linkin Park. Leto appeared in Chapter 27 (2007), a role for which he reportedly gained over 60 pounds. He’ll play Nemo Nobody in 2008’s Mr. Nobody.
