About the challenge

Welcome to the Eagle's Hackathon This exciting event will bring together creative and innovative high school students from Chile and around the world to collaborate, problem-solve, and develop new technological solutions.

Students will have access to mentors throughout the hackathon who will provide guidance and support as they work on their projects. All judges can help you throughout your project, so make sure to reach out if you need help.

The Eagle's Hackathon is a great opportunity for students to showcase their skills, learn new technologies, and make a difference in their communities. We hope to see you there!

Requirements

What to Build

Over the course of a day, participants will have the opportunity to work in teams to brainstorm and build projects that address real-world challenges. One theme will be selected at the start of the day, addressing a core issue we face around the world today. These issues could be related to education, the environment, health, or any other area where technology can help. Submissions can be either code or design-related, so 3D solutions are also an alternative. All participants must create a project related to this issue in some way. However, feel free to add your personal touch, the more creative you are, the better.

What to Submit

All submissions must meet the following requirements to ensure a fair and organized evaluation process:

  • All code must be submitted via GitHub or as a text file. The code must be well-structured, understandable, and fully functional. The use of external libraries or APIs should be clearly documented in the code.
  • If it's a 3D model, please provide the .obj file with the applied textures and materials. Files will be opened through Blender, so make sure your design looks appealing in this program.
  • Each team is required to submit a video showcasing their finished product. The video should be no more than five minutes long and should demonstrate the product's functionality. The video can also provide an overview of the team's development process, emphasizing any unique features or challenges encountered

By meeting these requirements, teams can ensure that their submissions are clear, functional, and can be evaluated fairly by the judges. Best of luck!

Judging Criteria

  • Originality
How innovative is your solution? Is it something that is already a common solution to the problem, or did you add an interesting personal touch?
  • Complexity
How advanced is your project? Did you simply follow a tutorial, or did you challenge yourself with a new library or tool that increases the complexity of the project?
  • Applicable to the prompt
How well does your solution address the given issue? Is it directly related in any way, or did you go off-track?
