It was close to midnight when the doorbell softly chimed. "One moment, please," Elizabeth called, setting down the book she'd been reading and slipped on her dressing gown. Eigentlich wollte ich nur "Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone" auf ARTE sehen, bin dann aber mitten in einer Programmvorschau gelandet. Und mein Erster Gedanke, als ich Marlon Brando in "Meuterei auf der Bounty" sah, war: "Meuterei auf der SNICKERS" würd' auch irgendwie blöd klingen.

Actually all I wanted to do was to watch "The Avengers", but I caught some trailer for a film later this week. My first thought when I caught sight of Marlon Brando in "Mutiny on the Bounty", was: "Mutiny on the SNICKERS" would sound a little odd.

This day started early, but nicely, even it was just 5:30 am. I had a cup of tea and listened to my favourite station. At this time of day I don't want slimey whining about girls who don't want you. I need good, solid, dirty rock to wake up. I don't care about your soppy, melancholic howling, not now and certainly not when I am fully awake.

Get a grip and listen to Melissa Etheridge, she knows how to whine without being pathetic. Now be a good boy and get a hanky.

I was spending a lot of time pondering what Mr McCain said to Mr Obama on the second presidential debate - which I watched in parts on CNN.

He ranted and ranted explained in detail (something I forgot), then turned to his opponent and called him "that one".

Now, while everyone thought that was rude - I finally found out what in fact it was!

Mr McCain made a POP REFERENCE. OMG. Shocking. It's a hip hop reference even!

There's a German hip hop band called Fantastische Vier and on their first record "Vier Gewinnt" they had a song called -- "Die Da!" -- "That (female) one!"



Come to think about it. McCain and German hip hop? *ponders* Okay, prolly he was just being unbelievably rude.

Actually I pondered to get up yesterday pretty early to take some pictures. On my way to work with the bus I'm passing half a dozen tiny villages (one of them is called "Wankheim" much to my personal amusement) and this early in the morning we have lots of mist. It looks simply beautiful especially with the colours of the red and yellow leafs and the brown fields when the sun rises. I just couldn't bring myself to get up yesterday early enough to catch the bus...

But today I got up earlier than I planned and took some pictures here in Tübingen. It's just across the street, down a dead end and I'm into the fields.
