After years of giving me a hard time about my Babylon 5 obsession, my sister-in-law has borrowed my DVDs. This is giving us Things to talk about.

 

The other night she was over for dinner.

 

"Dude, that show gets such a bad wrap. And, like, other shows steal from it a lot," she said. "And why isn't Bruce Boxleitner in more stuff?"

And I may have given it a whirl a couple weeks ago.

 

And I may be hooked.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Maroon 5's Daylight. It's absurd how much I love this song. Except. EXCEPT.

 

Every time I hear it, it makes me think of Sheridan and Delenn's final goodbye, and Sleeping in Light and the fierce hallway hug and the gdmf pillow-hugging scene, and I get all ~emotional. Every. Time.

So, um.

I've been away for awhile.

An update on things:

Leah is doing well.  She will be 11 months old in a couple of weeks, and I can't figure out where all the time went.  She's crawling, and standing, and walking with assistance but not alone just yet.  She's beautiful and wonderful and I love every single second of every day that I spend with her.

I don't get to write much anymore.  Most of the time that's fine, but sometimes I need to write something or my head will explode... and it usually gets hung up in editing.  I find that mostly doesn't bother me.  What I've been writing lately is... mostly very personal, with a couple of noted exceptions.

I'm slowly building an archive at AO3, mostly because it seems the Tron fandom is way more active over there.  But I'll post new stuff in both places, I think.

We'll find out tomorrow, because I think I have something that's "finished."  Yay.  YAY!  And, if it's in the cards, another one soon to follow.

Technically it's not your birthday yet where I live, and I know it's the middle of the night where you live, but hey - we work with what we got. XD  Since I cannot give you Alan, Sam and Junior having sexy, kinky playtimes on a giant heart-shaped bed, I did the next best thing: I wrote you a fic starring our favorite threesome.  We've been... ummmm... naughty lately, so I hope you don't mind if your birthday gift is a little less naughty and a lot more fun and playful.  Enjoy!

I've been a slacker.  Sorry :( but, you know.  Baby, work, etc.  And also, apparently I'm having a fight with my sister-in-law, which has been a super emotional drain and made me feel about 15 years old.  Apparently I screwed up her birthday because I went and had a baby and then I couldn't find a baby-sitter on 2 days' notice and so she couldn't have the baby-free-dinner-with-her-whole-family-at-a-nice-restaurant that she wanted.  IDEFK, but it came down to, "You wanna be mad at me, fine, you be mad at me."  And then I realized I'd heard that before, and then I watched some Babylon 5 and ate some Culver's Cookie Dough Craving and I felt better.

Anyway.

I also continue to feel mildly depressed on the fandom front.  I was writing an entry about it and then I decided that dwelling on it made me even more sad, and so I wasn't going to do that.

Other stuff making me feel very "blah":

- August is Babylon 5 Love Month and I'd really like to participate but I very much doubt my ability to finish anything at all on account of I'm still trying to figure out where the hell July went, and I don't anticipate August being any easier.

- There is no summer Porn Battle, and my first response was, "Well, that's fine, I probably wouldn't have had time anyway."

- In summary, I don't get to write very much anymore.  And that needs to be remedied or I'm going to go slowly insane, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

Grr.  Argh.  I need to do something that is not completely FOR SERIOUS.  ...Oh, lookie what I found...

Jack was always a little over-the-top stereotypically flamboyant for me (though, you know, some people are like that...), but I loved Will, and more importantly, I loved the dynamics of his relationship with Grace.  Sometimes I wish I had a gay best friend.  He could probably help me fix this mess with my sister-in-law.  *sigh*

My Prostitute!Sam story has a title now!  *Victory Dance WOOT WOOT!*  And it's, like, 26,000 words and climbing.  Ugh.  It's going to be a bear to edit.

And then... then IDK.  The Tron fandom on LJ is pretty well dead as a doornail.  My muse is poking at some other WIPs, but is doing so very sadly.  *Le sigh*  I feel like the last story I managed to finish in the Babylon 5 fandom (the last story of any substance, anyway) was my giant-ass AU as well.  Maybe that's my way of wandering out of stuff - pick up the characters, put them somewhere else entirely.  IDK.  I do know that all of this is making me have a sad. :(
