A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

Byenveni. Welcome to NHAEON.

I am honored to serve as Chair of the National Haitian American Elected Officials Network, a home for Haitian-American public servants and civic leaders committed to effective governance, civic participation, and protecting the dignity of our communities.

We carry a legacy of courage and leadership. Toussaint L’Ouverture reminded the world that even when liberty is attacked, it rises again because its roots are “deep and many.” NHAEON is part of those roots.

Our mission is to grow Haitian-American leadership, strengthen connection across jurisdictions, and deliver real impact when our communities face uncertainty.

This moment calls for coordinated action. Haitian families across the country are watching decisions that can reshape their lives overnight, including ongoing advocacy tied to TPS and legislative efforts that protect stability for families, workers, and U.S. citizen children. NHAEON exists for times like this.

During my term, we will focus on building a stronger organization and a stronger pipeline of leaders. We will invest in member engagement, leadership development, strategic communications, and partnerships that help Haitian-American elected officials and advocates lead effectively, together.

If you are here, you belong in the work. Join our network. Support our mission. Take action when our communities are at risk.

Men anpil, chay pa lou. Many hands make the burden light.
Nou la. Nou p ap lage. We are here, and we will not let go.

Yours in Service,
Vanessa Joseph
