Our Focus

Many high impact opportunities in child health are currently overlooked. We target high impact innovations across biopharma, diagnostics, digital health, and medical devices.

How It Works

We accept grants through Donor Advised Funds and 501(c)(3) foundations. Successful returns flow back into the fund. Every win fuels the next breakthrough.

The NextStep Difference

We’re not your typical investors. Impact drives our decisions, not just profits. Returns don’t enrich partners – they fuel future innovations. We’re hands-on. We take board seats. We guide companies. We demand accountability. This isn’t traditional philanthropy. It’s not traditional venture capital. It’s both. And it’s how we’re reshaping children’s healthcare.

Impact In Action

An example of the kind of investment we make is Eclipse Regenesis, a seed stage company tackling Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS).

In SBS, most of the small intestine is removed due to a congenital or acquired defect. What is left is too short to absorb sufficient nutrition to sustain life. SBS is devastating. It’s incurable.

CBS: Intestine too short to absorb enough nutrition

Care costs up to $500,000 per patient annually. The procedures are uncomfortable and often lead to liver failure. Up to 40% of children die by age 3.

Eclipse’s device, Eclipse XL1, could save these lives. It is designed to grow healthy intestines within months. The market is strong – $1.4B+ annually. but traditional VCs overlook it. We don’t.
