We have sadly learned that tokusatsu performer Kenji Ohba passed away at the age of 72 after an extended illness.

Kenji Ohba began his career in Super Sentai playing the role of Battle Kenya in Battle Fever J and Denzi Blue in Denshi Sentai Denziman.
Ohba was also the first Metal Hero, the first actor portraying the legendary Space Sheriff Gavan.

Our thoughts are with Kenji Ohba’s friends and family in this difficult time.

Pop culture merchandiser Fanattik has renewed their license with Hasbro and have added Power Rangers and Baldur’s Gate 3 to their library of available properties.

Fanattik creates various and miscellaneous collectibles for popular brands.  Their selection includes everything from bottle openers, medallions, pins, various replicas, and under the renewed and re-worked licensing deal now includes housewares, home-decor, and expands the “collectibles” definition.

While all has been quiet on the Power Rangers front, licenses and deals are still being created for the brand, signaling that there may still be a future for new content despite various rumors regarding upcoming media.

Fans of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers rejoice – arguably the greatest rendition of the classic Daizyujin/Megazord and Dragon Caesar/Dragonzord is seeing another re-release later this year.  The Soul of Chogokin GX-72 Daizyujin and GX-78 Dragon Caesar is being re-released this October via Tamashii Nations for roughly $310 (based on today’s current yen-to-dollar conversion rate).  This will be a re-release of the combo-pack first released a couple of years ago with a box unique to itself.

Originally, the Soul of Chogokin Daizyujin and Dragon Caesar released separately, and then in a two-pack when re-issued a few years ago.  The after market of these items has remained ridiculously high, with a set going for upwards of $800 depending on the condition.

Toei has officially announced the next Kamen Rider series!

Following the adventures of Kamen Rider Zeztz we will experience the story of Kamen Rider My-th!

Per the name the story of this new season will focus on myths and legends. The titular My-th is a beacon of hope for the future; a story of one hero who starts as a mere rumor before becoming a true legend.
