World Champion Taekwondo in New Fairfield, Connecticut, has been proudly serving the community since May 2012, offering top-quality martial arts training for students of all ages. Our program is built on the core values of courtesy, respect, integrity, self-control, and determination, which guide everything we do inside and outside the dojang. World Champion Taekwondo is the leading provider of martial arts training in the state of Connecticut. We have established 14 locations, all with state-of-the-art facilities and expert master instructors prepared with the best experience to serve you and your family. With respect, confidence, and discipline at the core of everything we do, we are confident in our 25 years of experience.
Meet Master Kim
Master Kim was born and raised in Seoul, Korea and has been training in Taekwondo since he was 4 years old. Master Kim is a 6th Dan Black Belt recognized by the world taekwondo headquarters, Kukkiwon. He has been teaching for 20 years, 13 of them being in New Fairfield.
He coached the All-Connecticut WCT Competition Team from 2015-2021 and in 2019 he proudly led two students to the Kimunyong Cup International Open Taekwondo Championship where they earned a gold medal in Seoul, Korea.
He is the proud father of two sons and a daughter, who can often be seen helping around the doajng.
Meet Master Sydney
Master Sydney is a 4th degree black belt and has been training under Master Kim for 13 years. They are one of two Masters who have successfully completed the entire World Champion Taekwondo curriculum from beginning to end at the New Fairfield School. After earning their 4th degree belt in May of 2023, they are now a Master and Head Instructor at WCT New Fairfield. The soon-to-be high school graduate (Class of 2025) has been an instructor at WCT New Fairfield for 3 years and is excited to continue to teach for the duration of their senior year.
Outside of the dojang they can be found on the football field at half-time for the NFHS Marching Band, as well as on the stage for NFHS Rebel Players.
