NetVideoOCX 1.0

NetVideoOCX by Hikvision is a legacy ActiveX (OCX) control designed to embed Hikvision video functionality into Windows applications and Internet Explorer. It enables developers and system integrators to connect to Hikvision IP cameras, DVRs, and NVRs over a network, decode their streams, and present live or recorded video within custom software or browser-based interfaces. Commonly bundled with older Hikvision web components and SDKs, NetVideoOCX was widely used to build bespoke monitoring consoles and to provide in-browser access to surveillance devices.

Key capabilities include:

• Live preview and playback from supported Hikvision devices
• Multi-channel display with stream selection (main/sub-stream)
• Snapshot capture and local recording
• PTZ control and digital zoom where the device supports it
• Audio monitoring and, when available, two-way talk
• Basic event/alarm handling and on-screen overlays

• Windows (primarily 32-bit environments)
• Internet Explorer via ActiveX
• Typical use alongside Hikvision SDKs and device web interfaces

Important notes:

• ActiveX is deprecated in modern browsers; NetVideoOCX is intended for legacy systems.
• For new deployments, consider Hikvision’s current SDKs, iVMS-4200 client software, or browser solutions that do not require plugins.
