About NETEC

A Partnership for Preparedness
The National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center’s mission is to set the gold standard for special pathogen preparedness and response across health systems in the U.S. with the goals of driving best practices, closing knowledge gaps, and developing innovative resources.
Our vision is a sustainable infrastructure and culture of readiness for managing suspected and confirmed special pathogen incidents across the United States public health and health care delivery systems.
National Special Pathogen System of Care (NSPS)
NETEC was tapped by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) to create the National Special Pathogen System of Care to address serious gaps in the nation’s health care system.

Our People
NETEC comprises faculty and staff from Emory University, the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Nebraska Medicine, and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. All work diligently to share their knowledge with health care, EMS, and public health personnel through consultations, education, and research.
