Oh hey, LJ. It's been a while! It's been even longer since I've cosplayed anything. But I got bit by the Hakuouki bug, and the rest is history. raepface was nice enough to tag along with me for this, and I am very excite for an eventual albel!Chikage during the summer.

All photos were taken by by new 18 MegaPixel Canon Rebel. Getting that in the mail a week ago was a prouder moment for me than graduating college. It's so beautiful that I often have to restrain myself from stroking it lovingly in public. Unf.

It's also been holding up great so far for the photoshoots we've been holding here in Boston. Day 1 down, and so far, so good! The AB photoshoots have been a BLAST so far, and I'm loving getting to meet new folks and see their lovely costumes. &hearts It's a great feeling when you can see that your photos make someone smile, too. :) VERY HAPPY.

I've been asked to update from Japan about the most recent news on the nuclear reactor explosion in Fukushima. So, as 朝日新聞 updates, I'll update with translations for those interested, for any breaking news to do with the reactor or the most recent quakes. (If other news agencies are faster, I may add to this later; but as of right now, the internet here is really shaky, and it's difficult to load pages.)

東京電力福島事務所によると、福島第一原発１号機で午後３時半ごろ、ドンという爆発音がした。１０分後には煙が確認された。これによって社員が数人負傷した。原因ははっきりせず、影響も不明。

According to Tokyo Electric's Fukushima Office, at around 3:30pm, the Fukushima No. 1 Power Plant exploded with a noise like 'don'. Ten minutes later, rising smoke fumes were confirmed. Several employees sustained injuries. The cause of the explosion is unclear, and it's impact is unknown.

According to the same office, smoke was seen in the vicinity midway between the nuclear reactor's main facility and turbine facility. In reality, where the smoke really came from is not something that is clear. The degree of any casualties, any alteration of the measure of external radioactivity, and how many storage containers were damaged in the incident is still obscure/unknown. The reactor's lowering water level is not unusual.

Two employees and two subcontractors have been taken to the hospital.

Read these books, when you get home. Resist ordering them now, as you will then have no room in your luggage to TAKE them home, and will end up constructing some horribly uncomfortable way of shoving them down your pants to get them onto the airplane back to New York.

Of all the books I've read, the fewest in number happen to be concerning about Africa and it's varied people, fictitious or no. And yet, when I comb over my memory for the novels and accounts that were the most compelling, culturally interesting, and intricately & honestly written-- that same small army is always what comes to mind.

So, more books on Africa, get. I don't know nearly enough about the histories and cultures of an entire continent; and that's pretty unacceptable.

On another note, thanks a lot, everyone who sent me well-wishes. &hearts I am taking eight pills a day (enough to kill a small animal, I think), but I am getting better, finally!

The Health Care system in Japan is fantastic. It has all the attributes of what the cliche male-in-an-action-drama looks for in a lady he'd like to buy a drink for at the bar. Cheap, easy, fast, comfortable, and welcoming. Doesn't ask too many questions, and you end the night with a baggie full of drugs.

Well, I've been home for about a week now! And aside from falling asleep all over the place, like a narcoleptic who isn't particularly choosy, it's been really nice. &hearts A lot of going into New York City, eating too many yearned-after foods, trying lots (and lots, and lots) of tea, seeing people I missed a ton, and a lot of making enough plans to last the entire vacation-- video gaming, parties, traveling, ect. It's great to be with these folks again.

And, oh, yes. When I'm around these east coast folks? There's always a lot of cosplay, too. Mainly plans at this point, but raepface had a cute idea for last weekend, which we went through with. Our first cosplay together, before we even really knew one another, was Byakuran & Shouichi, from that series about gay moofia and their pokemonz. So, we decided to have a bit of fun with our new cameras, and try out some outfits we hadn't done for them yet, for old time's sake.

So, ah, please take a look! Especially if you want an example of what our combined cameras can produce. It might be sort of a closet cosplay, but I'm really happy with our two new cameras, and the range and types of shots they can take, together! (Mina, we really have to have a photo get-together soon!)

Also, for today: Dreams are quirky bits of nature. When I woke up and couldn't think of the man in a real setting, I was sad he'd never been my teacher.
