For me, the most memorable part of a video game is the story I can create within its world. Final Fantasy XI is no different -- among the battles that sparked legends in the gaming community, music that triggers memories of childhood in both active and former players, and storylines that inspired future Final Fantasy titles, what I think of most fondly is the little Mithran monk that I play as.

When I first created Nemhi in December 2024, my primary inspiration was creating someone that would be the opposite of my Final Fantasy XIV Miqo’te. He, T’saya, is a serious and dignified Red Mage with a lengthy and traumatic backstory. T’saya has saved the world time and time again, and his strength is essentially uncontested across Hydaelyn. Nemhi, meanwhile, is an airheaded former athlete whose only motivation for adventuring is finding her missing twin brother. And when I say she’s a breath of fresh air to write... I mean it!

I intended her as sort of an ascended NPC, like your party member in a JRPG whose story is pretty simple -- but then, she has to fill in the protagonist’s shoes, despite not having a lot of the standard player character tropes; no dead parents, no burned village, no legendary ability.

As my adventures throughout Vana’diel have started to form into something I could call a complete narrative”, I think this vision has remained mostly true. Nemhi might be a bit basic character-wise, and yet... she’s completely stolen my heart. I hope you’ll understand why as you explore my page!

Version 0.4 (04/01/26): Big sidebar update. Tidied up the index code a lot, too. A lot of assets are still in need of tweaking.

Version 0.3.4 (03/31/26): Did some little edits, and added placeholders for the RPG club and Exvius webring. Ignore the 20-second inventory in the former, lol

Version 0.3.3 (03/30/26): Added a marquee to Index, a little highlight on the update title, and a drop shadow on the page title. I'll have to make the new headers for the other pages the same size as the Index header plus the marquee. Version 0.3.2 (03/29/26): Links (links page) actually work now! Also added a header to Nem/Val and some placeholder images to Lore.

Version 0.3.1 (03/21/26): Added a draft of the first half of Chapter II (basegame, RoZ) to Lore. It'll probably take awhile to continue, particularly because Chapter III is going to be a LOT of work. Got started on the Screenshots page, too.

Version 0.3 (03/20/26): Created the starting point for the AzureSkies Webring, and filled out the first pass of the Nem/Val page.

Version 0.2.3 (03/17/26): Added two profile picture to Characters. Added Nemhi's birthday.

Version 0.2.2 (03/07/26): Updated the pagedoll and hit counter on all pages. Added placeholders for AzureSkies clique and Nemhi clique.

Version 0.2.1 (03/05/26): Added Chapter I in Lore. Changed the headers of all pages outside of index to unique placeholders. Changed the pagedoll to a gif on the index page (will update the rest later). Changed the hit counter to the POL banner (on index only as well).
