NDT Certification
NDT Personnel Qualification and Certification ensures that NDT personnel thoroughly understand the technology, principles and practices of the NDT methods and techniques. This understanding is essential to good NDT performance because:
Most NDT methods do not inherently create their own records
NDT results are strongly dependent on the NDT process and operator. NDT results can seldom be cross checked without conducting another test. Examinations are available by various NDTSS Authorized Examination Center since 2017 available currently in Singapore, India, Indonesia, Brunei.
NDTSS provides certification to ISO 9712:2021 in RT (Film & Digital), UT (Incl PAUT, TOFD), MT, PT, ET and VT.

NDT personnel must also know the tests and be dedicated to performing them properly. They must understand the potential seriousness of, and their responsibility for, the consequences if the tests are not performed properly.
The principal procedure used to ensure that NDT personnel possess these qualification consists of the following:
- Training to gain necessary knowledge
- Experience, under the supervision of competent and knowledgeable people
- Qualification examinations to demonstrate that the individual has acquired sufficient knowledge and competency in the methods to be used
- Certification to document the successful demonstration of competency
NDTSS certification activities are chaired by Mr. Jayesh Bhatt, who brings over 35 years of technical experience in Non-Destructive Testing, personnel qualification, and certification system governance. He is a recognized subject matter expert in ASNT practices and ISO-based certification frameworks.
In addition to his technical and regulatory expertise, Mr. Bhatt has led the automation and computerization of certification processes within the society, strengthening traceability, examination control, data integrity, and compliance with ISO/IEC 17024 requirements. His leadership ensures that the certification system remains technically rigorous, auditable, and aligned with evolving regulatory and industry expectations.
