Take Action!
Share YOUR 'First Sport' Story With Us and Be Featured in our social media during Water Safety Month and throughout the 2025 Water Safety Season.

There is a level of excitement and pride that comes with watching a child score the winning goal, hit a home run, score a touchdown or perform in a recital. But the #FirstSport every parent and caregiver should choose for their child is swimming.
- We want to hear from you if you chose swimming as your child’s First Sport.
- We want to see pictures and videos of your child during their swimming lessons.
- We want to know WHY you chose swimming as their First Sport.
- We want to know WHO taught your child to swim.
- And.. we want to share your First Sport stories to inspire other families to learn to swim.
Drowning is still the number one killer of children ages 1-4 in the U.S, which means learning to swim and water competency is more than just a sport; it’s a vital survival skill.
The #FirstSport campaign can and will serve as a wake-up call for many. You can make a difference simply by sharing your story to inspire other parents and caregivers to choose swimming as their child’s First Sport! Together, we can save lives and prevent the tragedy of drowning!
