About the challenge

Our hackathon is the first of it's series, and is also the first hosted by Northern California Hacks. The goal of this hackathon is to engage a larger community into stem and literature, and helping others in the process. 

 

The hackathon has been split up into many brackets, but the two that are currently availible for signup are the Coding (begginers) and Steam brackets. 

 

Here are information on each of the different brackets:Please sign up on this form to be a part of our hackathon on Feb 11 - Feb 13

The Coding Bracket (Infinite Team slots total: 1-3 members per team):

- anyone can compete
- code any project 
- high schoolers - college students

The Steam Bracket (Infinite Team: 1-4 members per team)
- make something related to steam
- anyone can compete
- K - 8th grade 

The Literature Bracket (Infinite Individual slots total: 1 member per team)
- write something related to literature
- anyone can compete
- under 23 years
The Speed Cubing Bracket (Infinite: 1 member per team)
- 3x3 - 3 rounds - all ages

Fundraising

My favorite part of the hackathon!! We'll be fundraising for a secret charity during this hackathon, LIVE, while we do something cool!!!!!

 

We'll be on for about 70+ hours, with games, events, workshops, special guests, and more!!

What the event will look like:

You'll be building your project, while a 70 hour live stream will be going on. We'll have workshops, events, games, SPECIAL GUESTS, sponsors, donation playes, and a lot more. Those who attend these special events will recieve RAFFLE tickets for prizes at the end of the hackathon!

Requirements

What to Build

The goal is to build something based on the bracket you sign up for. The coding bracket is for high school and college students to build something from code, theme may be provided, while the steam bracket is for elementary and middle school students to design something out of steam with a team and present it.

What to Submit

ALL teams are required to submit a video/or live presentation and the project from github if apart of a coding group.
