2026 State Energy Conference of North Carolina: April 28-29, Raleigh

Entering its 20th year, the conference has earned a reputation as the premier forum highlighting and discussing energy issues in North Carolina and beyond. The conference will explore the future of energy through discussions on power generation, grid reliability, and emerging technologies shaping how energy is produced and delivered. Sessions will also cover growing electricity demand, clean energy solutions, energy efficiency, and innovative approaches to managing and using energy more effectively. The conference includes 30 sessions and four keynote sessions.

Supporting States and Communities on Renewable Energy Siting and Permitting

Through the Carolinas Development Assistance & Siting Hub (DASH) project, the NC Clean Energy Technology Center (NCCETC) is working to educate local decision makers on renewable energy siting and permitting in North and South Carolina. The Center aims to develop model ordinances that will serve as a starting point for local government officials to implement in their communities when it comes to large-scale renewable energy development.

EVSE Infrastructure Course Series

The EVSE Infrastructure Course Series is comprised of four 1-hour courses that cover the topics of siting, working with utilities, navigating permitting, and ADA considerations relating to EVSEs. The series is intended to provide foundational information on each topic for architects, planners, and construction professionals.

Supporting Farmers and Rural Small Businesses – USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program

The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) offers grants and loan guarantees to help rural small businesses and agricultural producers improve energy efficiency or install renewable energy systems. DSIREinsight is a subscription-based policy research service from the Center. Building on the DSIRE database and 50 States reports, it offers in-depth analysis of U.S. clean energy policy with a focus on distributed solar, grid modernization, energy storage, electric vehicles, and power decarbonization. The Piedmont and Coastal NC Clean Communities Coalition

The Piedmont and Coastal North Carolina Clean Communities Coalition (PCNCCC) will deliver clean energy and alternative fuel solutions to communities across 57 counties in Central and Eastern North Carolina. As part of the Coalition’s initiatives, the Center will collaborate with both public and private stakeholders to reduce transportation-related emissions, stimulate economic development, and enhance public health outcomes.
