RED LAKE
The history of Nature’s Inn Red Lake is deeply intertwined with the region’s mining history and the need for adaptable housing. Originally, the property began as the Forestview Apartments in 1984, constructed to provide housing for workers at the Dickenson Mine. Over time, particularly following the significant mining strike in the late 1990s, the need for flexible accommodation became apparent. This led to the transformation of a section of the Forestview Apartments into Nature’s Inn Red Lake, offering nightly rentals alongside the existing long-term housing options. This evolution highlights the property’s commitment to serving the changing needs of the Red Lake community, providing a “home away from home” for both short-term visitors and long-term residents.
