Please note that I will take a short blogging break next week. There is no Weekend Coffee Share link-up and no Public Art photo challenge on May 1. Please plan to join me again on May 8 when I will resume hosting.
I will host the Monthly Wrap-Up link-up on April 30. If you write monthly recaps, tracking progress or taking stock posts, I hope you will join me on April 30.
When I stayed in Nice last November, I took a day trip to Èze. Èze is located on the French Riviera, 8.5 km (5.3 miles) to the northeast of Nice. It is a small and enchanting medieval village.
The best thing to do in Èze is to be a flâneur or flâneuse, wander the cobblestone streets and enjoy its charming atmosphere. Most of the ground floors of the houses in Èze are now used as workshops, gift shops or art galleries. So, there is plenty to look at.

One of the buildings that stands out from the rest of the houses is Notre Dame de l’Assomption thanks to its ochre color, size, and location on the hilltop. This church is listed as French Historic Monument.
The construction of Notre Dame de l’Assomption began in 1764 and it was completed and consecrated in 1772. The façade was built in Neo-Classical style and decorated with monumental pilasters. Its architect, Antonio Spinelli, contrasted the outside with its interior which is decorated with cornices and trompe l’oeil paintings, producing a dramatic effect proper to the baroque style.

Other attractions in Èze include its Exotic Garden and two Michelin-starred restaurants: Chèvre d’Or and Château Eza. On this trip, I have visited the gardens in Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, the gardens in Monaco and the Botanical Garden in Menton so I saved the Exotic Garden in Èze for a future visit.

Several archways, unique doors and a colourful painted booth in Èze caught my eye. Please use the arrows to navigate the slideshow if you want to see all ten images.
What’s new with you?
