Naija Akatarians is a research and an exhibition project by Happy Akegbeleye, Petja Dimitrova (and Clifford Erinmwionghae 2015/16/17)

Happy Akegbeleye was born in Delta State, Nigeria. He has been living in Vienna since 2004, initially as an asylum seeker and now as an Austrian citizen. He is a worker and community organizer, actively involved in cultural and sports projects within the Nigerian community in Vienna. He was actively engaged in the refugee protest movement in Vienna from 2012/13 and in planet-10, a queer-feminist and antiracist platform in Vienna. He has also played football for FC Sans Papiers, FC NAFA, SV Vorwärts Brigittenau, and FC Wiener Linien.

Petja Dimitrova born in Sofia/Bulgaria is a visual artist and activist who has been living in Vienna since 1994. Her practice is situated at the intersection of visual arts, curating, education, and activism. She teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. From 2011 to 2014, she worked as the artistic director of the festival WIENWOCHE (with Can Gülcü and Radostina Patulova). From 2005 to 2014, she was a board member and chairwoman of the IG Bildende Kunst. She is a member of the Network for Critical Migration Studies and Border Regimes. A co-editor of books such as „Migrationsskizzen,“ „Postkoloniale Verstrickungen,“ „antirassistische Baustellen,“ and „Regime: Wie Dominanz organisiert und Ausdruck formalisiert wird.“ She is also a co-initiator of the initiative 1.März – a Migrant Streik Day. Clifford A. Erinmwionghae is an artist, photographer and activist. Born in Benin City Nigeria. Living in Vienna since 2004, many years as asylumseeker. He studies at at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. 2015 he was a fellow of the kültür gemma – a program that supports migrant cultural production. Works about the cultural and political recognition of black people, as for the rights of refugees. He realized some projects in WIENWOCHE about the topics as: Bleibeführer_In Wien,  wahlwexel jetzt! protest production collective. A member of the board of JEF – Justice, Equality for Africa. Activist in the refugee protest movement 2012-13 in Vienna. Activist in 1of March – transnational migrant streik day Austria. Took park in various discussion, articles, interviews, symposion and workshops about migration and self organisation of refugees.
