Happy New Year, everyone!

In case anyone has links to anything that is posted on my "moonfeather-ink.com/naadi" H/D website, I thought I should give notice that the site will be closing permanently on January 31, 2017. Please update any links to go to the work on AO3 - see below. If anyone has a link that goes to something you can't find on AO3, please let me know!

Important NOTE: This also means that since that site was hosting my art here on LJ, almost all of the links to artwork posted here will be broken. It is unlikely that I will be able to take the time to recode all of those links. So if you are looking for my art, please check out the link below.

All my HP and H/D, and other fandom work is now up on AO3 here. Almost everything that was posted in this journal, will now be available there.

Title: The Best Aerial Steam Team in the DMLE



Summary: Draco Malfoy is one-half of the best damned Aerial Steam Team in Wizarding Britain, and he's exceedingly proud of it. It doesn't hurt that his partner is adorable delectable not nearly as displeasing as previously presumed, even if Potter doesn't always support Draco's fashion choices. Really, how can Draco not want to transfigure his standard-issue Ministry uniform (boring!) into something more posh. He's still the best at his job. He even invented wings!

Summary: Deep in an enchanted forest, Harry finds a magical pool inhabited by a beautiful naiad. In mythology, all naiads, or water nymphs, divine nature spirits, are female. Of course, Draco must be the exception. ;-)

This has been an intensely busy year for me, mostly with home renovation and family health issues. My grandmother died in November at 100 years old. I've posted about that and the past year here on my other journal.

But if Draco survives this mission, Harry won't care who sees them together.

Happy Holidays!!! Blessings and best wishes to everyone for 2015!

In February of 2002, I started writing a Harry/Draco story titled, Checkmate. Then I discovered digital art and H/D fests. :D And now, many, many fics and artworks later, it's the end of 2013 and time for me to move on to other work, including original writing and art. It's been a wonderful, life-changing experience to be involved with fandom, and I have learned and laughed and loved so much with all the friends I've made here. So it is with mixed sadness and excitement that I am retiring this journal. All my previous WIPs are finished; my fandom work this year is the last I intend to do. I still love H/D and HP so I'm sure I'll still be checking my flist on occasion here, and I'll still be a mod for a few comms. And for the foreseeable future, I don't intend to take my work down or delete this journal.

I also now have all my HP and H/D work up on AO3 HERE.

Notes: Thank you to dysonrules for prompting this! Like so many in the H/D fandom, I fell head over heels in love with Stanley the mint beetle from saras_girl's fic All Life is Yours to Miss, and I loved the opportunity to bring him to life. Animating Stanley was also my first attempt to work with a 3D shape, so it was both a very fun and a little bit how-the-hell-do-I-move-this-thing experience!

Important Note for Viewing: This is animated art, on four pages. Each animation will probably run (excruciatingly) slowly until the browser finishes loading the file. Please be patient. The animations do repeat, and they will usually run up to speed on the second time through. To go to the next page, just click anywhere on the animated image. Title: At the End of All Our Games

     Time-period or theme: 1920's/art nouveau
     Place: London or Malfoy Manor
     Emotion: anxiety, fear, excitement, love, desperation
     Sense: touch.
     Object: rings, feathers, champagne, diamonds, flowers
     Action: Draco hosts a party at Malfoy Manor that Harry attends, or they both attend a party somewhere in London. They are trying to keep their distance, but love makes it seem impossible; they steal brief moments together, trying not to allow everyone else see.
     Mood: secrecy, forbidden-ness, partying 20's style, gaiety, drunken-ness

Summary: 1920's Muggle styles are all the rage post-war. The Malfoys throw a 1920's party to celebrate the restoration of Malfoy Manor and their liberation from all that nasty Dark Lord business. Who better to invite than the hero responsible, Harry Potter, and his new fiancée. In fact, Draco insists on it. ;-)

Notes: Thank you to savagesnakes for this wonderful prompt! I loved the idea of a 1920's party at Malfoy Manor and had so much fun doing this with an art nouveau style. The 1920's art nouveau dresses were inspired by the work of George Barbier. Ginny's dress and pose were inspired by this art, also by Barbier. The dance poses were inspired by Vernon and Irene Castle. The title of this piece was inspired by "Past the Point of No Return" from Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber, specifically the following lyrics:

"Past the point of no return, no backward glances
Our games of make-believe are at an end
Past all thought of 'If' or 'When', no use resisting
Abandon thought and let the dream descend
What raging fire shall flood the soul?
What rich desire unlocks its door?
What sweet seduction lies before us?"

Notes: Thank you to olivia_beige for this great and fun prompt! Besides the Harry Potter books, Good Omens, by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, is one of my very favorite books, and I loved the chance to draw Crowley and Aziraphale as Harry and Draco. I debated a while as to who should be the demon and who should be the angel, but finally it came down to hair color. ;-) I'm not sure I managed to make Harry!Crowley look particularly demonic, and perhaps Draco!Aziraphale is more angelic than Draco-ish, but I hope you'll enjoy this cross-over. Sadly though, wings just wouldn't fit inside the bookstore - I did try, but to have them not showing is more canon anyway - so please think of them as there invisibly. Oh, and since Aziraphale's beloved bookstore was recreated after the Almost-Apocalypse, and since this is Draco!Aziraphale, I thought maybe it should be a bit more posh than it was originally. ;-)

For anyone unfamiliar with Good Omens, things from that universe that I included here: Crowley's beloved 1926 Bentley (parked outside on the street), Crowley's sunglasses that he wears everywhere, even when he doesn't need them, the Closed sign on the door that doesn't say Open on the other side, and Aziraphale's hot cocoa and candles.

I don't often promote things, but this makes me incredibly gleeful!! Cyan, the creators of the Myst/Uru series of games, is planning a new game: Obduction. They have a Kickstarter project going on now until November 16th, to fund it. I've pledged generously and hope anyone else who is a fan of their amazing work, will consider supporting them too. Voting starts today, and of course I would be thrilled for the story to get some votes! However, since two of my most favorite stories are also nominated in the same category, I'm understandably conflicted. :D

In any case, if you've never read Choices of the Heart, I would love to invite you to read it now. You may link to the summary and all three of the chapters on my website HERE! ^.^

If there is anyone still around that remembers when I started this - it was in 2005! - I'm happy to say, it is NOW FINALLY FINISHED!!! Actually, it is not only finished, it is entirely reworked, and a brand new "B" has been added. This project was one of the very first things I tried to draw digitally, and over the years as I learned better how to do that work, the style changed significantly. With B in particular, I realized that the original version was not in keeping with the rest, in that it was not an illustration of an event in the book. So therefore, I've redrawn a new B and redrawn the others a bit so that the style, while still not exactly the same, at least is more consistent overall. And finally, I've added the missing letters: W - Z! :) And this is also the last of all the WIPs I had hanging around unfinished. Yay!!

I was able to catch Neil Gaiman's book signing tour last Wednesday! Very fun and thunderstorm-y! :D And earlier this spring, I did 3 illustrations for his mass participation project, Calendar of Tales.

I have finally managed to finish Your Heart's Desire! This was a multi-page animated piece that I started for a second prompt I picked up in hd_fanart's 2009 (yes, 2009!) Harry/Draco Art Fest for a prompt submitted by lemon_drop151. The story and art got far more complicated than I had time to complete for the fest, and I barely got enough done to post a Part 1 in the fest. Sadly, I had to leave it very angsty and unresolved. Not my thing at all! *grin*

There were 19 pages in the original Part 1. The complete, finished version now has 50. *rolls eyes at self* But it is done now. Yay! :D

Well, after at least two years or more of telling myself, "I really need to update my website," I have finally done so! I spent nearly every spare minute for the last four months (omg) learning xhtml and css coding and literally rewriting my website from scratch. Everything, including the text of every fanfic, has been edited and rewritten into new code. Checkmate alone took almost a month to edit and recode. O_o But I am very pleased with how it turned out. :D

If you want to have a look, you can visit the new site here: Fanfiction and Art by Naadi. This site is now current and houses all of the HP and Harry/Draco fanfiction and art that I have completed to date, as well as the completed parts of the two WIP's that I'm still working on.

I did start out to try to carry over as many link urls from the previous site as I could, but I'm not sure I was ultimately able to do that, since the site ended up being completely reorganized. So if anyone had bookmarked anything of mine on the old site, I apologize if that link has now been broken. I will be happy to help anyone relocate a link for something on the new site, if you need it. :)

This year has been very busy with school, but I managed to squeek out a few things here at the end of the year. :D I actually put off doing any original work this year, just because of how busy I was with school, and ended up keeping my creative self happy by accidently finding fest prompts I could NOT resist. lol I do still plan to finish the last two or three of my HP fanart works that are still unfinished, including Your Heart's Desire and The Gory, Spoilery Alphabetic Guide to HP & HBP, which I didn't manage to get to this year. I blame that on those evil irresistable aforementioned prompts. :P
