school Membership
Testimonials
Here’s what some AACS members have to say about the value of their membership.
AACS is the only national association representing the beauty, barber, and wellness education sector, with over 250 school-owner members, comprising nearly 700 schools across the U.S.

AACS is proactive in both federal and state government relation activities. As a regulated industry, we stay prepared to combat constant attacks on our sector of education. From gainful employment and over-regulation at the federal level to the reduction of program hours as well as the complete deregulation of licensure at the state level, AACS stays vigilant and pro-active to protect the beauty, barber, and wellness sector of education.
Annually, AACS hosts the Congressional Summit and Hill Day where owners and administrators gather to learn about the latest government activities in Washington, D.C. as well as meet with Members of Congress and their staffs to advocate on behalf of the beauty, barber, and wellness education sector.

AACS hosts a series of seminars, conferences, and conventions throughout the year including two major national conferences designed specifically for the beauty, barber, and wellness education sector. One of the greatest values of membership with AACS is the networking opportunities and industry resources provided to our members at these events.
- AACS Career Educators Alliance (CEA) Conference: This two-day conference is designed to help your instructors excel as educators.
- AACS Annual Conference: The Annual Conference provides owners and administrators the knowledge and tools they need to meet today’s operational challenges and grow their schools.
- Congressional Summit & Hill Day: A two-day summit at which AACS members gather to network, meet with congressional representatives, and advocate for the industry in Washington, D.C.

Additionally, AACS hosts virtual Lunch & Learn events: interactive, small group workshops on a variety of informative topics.
Not a member? You can attend these webinars, or purchase the recorded webinars after the event, for $49.

The Golden School Awards take place annually to recognize the best in the beauty, barber, and wellness education sector. Awards are given in nine distinct categories: Advocacy, Community Involvement, Facilities, Legacy Alumni, Marketing Innovation, Placement, School Culture, Student Salon & Spa, and School of the Year. Winners are announced during the AACS Annual Conference in the fall.
The AACS & L’Oreal Student Stylist of the Year Competition honors the next generation of visionaries shaping the beauty industry. This prestigious competition celebrates the artistry, innovation, and technical excellence of students enrolled in AACS member schools. Winners and finalists are awarded at the CEA Conference in the summer.

AACS Partners (vendor members) often provide exclusive discounts to AACS member schools! Our Partners are preferred vendors who support our industry and want to see AACS member schools succeed.
