Someone sent me this. I haven't done one of these things for a while, so it was kinda fun to do, coming up with 10 things about myself I'd want to tell people about. Whoever sent it must have thought I'd be interesting. Joke's on them.

I've been emailed this thing twice so I figured I'd answer it.

Instructions: Shuffle your songs. List the first twenty that come up. Explain why you like the song.

I cheated a bit and only used the songs on the playlist I listen to the most right now. There's more than a hundred songs on it, so there was a lot of variety for shuffle to choose from. But they are the best representation of me right now.

So there you have it. Me, as defined by the music I listen to. I know one thing you can tell; I don't listen to the radio.

So, let me just say, I don't ship real people. Fictional characters, yes. I'm an adult and can distinguish the difference between actors and the characters they play. Characters aren't real and the relationships they establish (or we wish they'd establish if the writers would just listen to us) are not real. There are things that I get behind in fiction that I wouldn't necessarily condone in real life (take FDtD for example, I do not think 17 year old girls should run away with 30 year old men, but I'll ship Seth/Kate til the sun explodes).

But that's what's great about television and movies and books, they allow your imagination to flourish and you get to explore things in fic you wouldn't in real life (I mean really, would you want a vampire for a boyfriend? Really?).

Besides I don't give a damn about who's sleeping with who in Hollywood enough to ship actual people. I'm not all, "ScarJo and Chris Evans should have babies," (although I totally ship Cap/Widow, do not think they should have babies, do think they should have lots of athletic, super soldier-y sex)

But I have seriously gone down the rabbit hole this week and I cannot get out.

What the hell is going on at Wimbledon today? It's injuries and upsets all over the place. Is there something in the water? Did the seeds get together and decide the throw the over 100s a bone or something? It's crazy.

First off, Merry Christmas!

Second, it's Christmas Eve and, while I cook, I'm watching American Horror Story.

This is obviously perfect Christmas Eve viewing.

As a single, self-employed mother of two financial aid dependent college students I am extremely happy that before I went to bed last night (at 3am, election result watching is a LONG and stressful process) Barack Obama was re-elected president.

Romney would have killed everything I depend on to help provide myself and my children a happy, healthy and productive life. I'm in that middle class that can't afford to have my taxes raised or Pell Grants cut or access to free and affordable healthcare denied.

I didn't vote for Barack Obama because I'm black and he's black and that's all that matters. I'm sure there are black people out there who did vote for him just because he's black. But like my mom said, there are folks in the south who just voted for Romney because he's NOT black.

I voted for Barack Obama because I feel safer with him in office. I voted for Barack Obama because with him in office I know my concerns, and the concerns of all the people I know, are relevant and important and mean something.

And, I'm not going to lie, I'm really damn happy that not only did the United States of America elect a black president in 2008 they re-elected that black president in 2012 despite the tough economic climate, a Congress with a majority against him, and an administration still hampered by the policies of the president who came before and whose mess he's still trying to clean up.

So, I'm ready for four more years. I know they're going to be hard. I know that change takes time. And I know that at the end of those four years our problems won't all be magically solved. But things will be better and that's all I'm asking for.

There are no words to express how much I adore Michelle Obama. I'm all about the President, but Michelle Obama,she's the greatest. When she is no longer First Lady I think we will be losing something very special. She's the first First Lady I've ever had so much admiration and respect for, and she's going to be a tough act to follow.

And now I will go back to watching the DNC
