Okay, for my first post in six months, I’m going to put this out there, and it may be a little controversial; but, personally, I don't care what others are saying, I think C4 have done a damn good job of televising the Paralympic Games 2012.

Their coverage has been informative, intense, amazing, and sometimes funny to boot. The commentators have known their stuff, and the presenters friendly, knowing, and worth listening to. I really hope we get to see these presenters again.

And today, a highlight, the incomparable Clare Balding received a standing ovation as she presented the flowers in a stadium medal ceremony.

Tomorrow, it’s the closing ceremony, and, despite it meaning this wonderful summer is all over, I can’t wait.

AN1: Selena Gomez and my daughter will have to take the blame for this story and some others to follow, I hope. Xmas saw me buying my daughter a CD matching the title of this fic; 3 months later I'm in love with the CD – probably because it's been played non-stop in my car since early January. Anyway, I've set myself a goal of writing a drabble cum ficlet loosely based around each of the CD song titles (found here) – um, that's 11 in total, so guess this is my 2011 project :)

AN2: Each ficlet will include a line from the song before and after, in italics, and one line hidden in the body of the story (that's in case anybody has a yearning to listen to my inspiration *g*)
