You need to activate every Mosaic installation individually. Licenses were made to limit the following:
If you built a website with an active license, and then the license got cancelled, the website will remain fine probably for a long time. Issues could happen due to updates, for example a PHP update could require new codes, a WordPress update too, and sometimes we have to make compatibility codes with other plugins. Only new Mosaic versions have updated codes to avoid such compatibility issues.
